I am with the person talking about berta's role. She was the tuff person against charlie now she just drools over ashton that is not our berta we had since the start. She held her own with charlie and what is all the fart jokes and allan trying to be the con artist but charlie would never let him get away with anything. What is the storyline with all the family getting over charlie's death in just a few weeks. That does not make any sense for a family !

Let's see (and please forgive any spelling errors)...the family never held Charlie to any real high standard through the years. "Evelyn" had actually stated more that once that she didn't expect Charlie to outlast her - "I'll be alive long after his syphyllitic remains" - or something of that nature when she was in the process of marrying the con artist played by Robert Wagner (I believe - but that could be from another episode). Alan - though really caring for his brother, always cautioned him about his lifestyle and so he does take it hard at the beginning but he is not really shocked in the end - as you can see with his soliloquy holding the urn - "well, here we are" - he retorts. Berta is Berta -- how many times had she reminisced about how she was the alpha dog and had to put up with his lifestyle that at one time had become so out of control she was thinking of putting his bedsheet on a roller? She never went out of her way for Charlie - she took what she could and got away with whatever she could get away with. Though a humorous banter was heard between them, humor usually masks the real feelings - of which Berta was in it for the money and was ready to leave when Charlie couldn't pay AND when Alan starts to get too demanding and he has to go after her while she's doing laundry someplace else. She "was working for Caligula" and now there was a change - she now sees a new fish and wants him in more ways than one. Hasn't she exclaimed interest previously in both male / female visitors to the house? Charlie's ex girlfriend turned man? The Bob Wagner character (you can if you play your cards right), and Alan's 2nd wife - "Good Golly she's a muffin / I haven't sampled anything from that side of the buffet table in a while..." No, she has shown who she is many times.
Then, there is also the reality of the need to move on with the show. The new character creates a new momentum / lots of loose billiard balls clanging around on the table and Charlie needs to go - as the continually bringing him up is going to have a grounding effect - especially if there are new viewers that aren't that tied to him so - theatrically, it makes sense. BTW, Charlie himself never doubted his demise as a character - he wasn't a risktaker? Actually, he had that vision after his best friend dies within minutes at the top of one show - his best friend that he makes the funeral for and then envisions himself as "the guest of honor.- "The Devil's Lube" I believe." Now, I am not saying that I am liking all the changes as they appear, and I can't fault people for feeling that they have lost a show they enjoyed - I can just make sense out of what is going on - and that includes the fart jokes as well - they aren't new at all.

the show sucks without sheen!you dont have to like sheen as a person but ashton is a joke trying to take his part!even jon cryer cant make up the loss of charlie and hes good!not only is ashton a bust in this but he will laugh all the way to the bank.charlie beat the producers again when they overpaid ashton for a flop!only by sucking up producers ego and rehiring sheen can this show survive!dont forget that jake is too old to be cute anymore!

I agree. The new Two and A Half Men suck!!!! In the old show all the characters played well together. The jokes were on time. Jake is too old to be cute and funny. Alan has become a scathing con artist. The relationship of all the new characters is so unbelievable. Please bring Charlie back!!!!!

Even when Charlie was a wreck, he was way funnier than Ashton imo
