T-Mobile In The UK Blocking Access To All LGBT Sites Offensive Or Not

There are 32 comments on the lezgetreal.com story from Sep 3, 2010, titled T-Mobile In The UK Blocking Access To All LGBT Sites Offensive Or Not. In it, lezgetreal.com reports that:

T-Mobile has been the focus of complaints in the United Kingdom lately that their phone network bars access to LGBT websites because they are considered to be ‘offensive’, and unsuitable for those under eighteen. It does not appear to matter if those sites contain nudity or offensive content. This probably means that LezGetReal is being blocked by T-Mobile and our British customers will not be able to read this article on T-Mobile’s network.

I am very disappointed and will be calling T-Mobile next week - I am gay and have had the family plan with my partner, but I live in the USA. Even though I have had then for almost 10 years, I will have NO problem dropping this company if this bigotry is not fixed immediately. I am so sick of being treated like a second class citizen and this filter disgusts me. As I am in the process of obtaining a child with my partner, our phone compnay will obviously be important for my son or daughter to access and learn about open mindedness and understanding - while I hope T-Mobile corrects this, NOW, us gays will boycott and continue to do so until there is no more discrimination.

I think I will start a cell phone company and block access to religious sites. They corrupt minors.

T-Mobile is already teetering on the brink. If true and un remedied this will really be a fun way to see them hasten their own demise.

Teetering on the edge of also ran status compared to the majors I meant. I'd hate to get texted by some lawyer if I implied T-Mobile was on the verge of bankruptcy or something.

Not to worry darlin, they'll go after the bible next given how violent parts of it are.

Be very careful what you wish for. You're foolish enough to think you and your ilk are free from such ignorant tactics. You're not.

What on earth does liberal ideology have to do with this? Liberal = no censorship, and conservative = censorship.

It's not liberals who burn books after all or insist that GLBTs go back in the closet.

First amend doesn't apply to a private company decision on their service offerings.

"In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up."

I *promise* you, the poster "palin" does not live completely in reality. Day after day, it's the same projected, hypothetical crap, based on a number of (possible) issues which I'm seeing surface in his/her posts again and again.

As soon as t-mobile quits taking queer dollars I'll believe they are serious. They sure took my gay dollars lol. Thank God they are no longer my service provider!
