Still fanning the flames on 'Rescue Me'

Does every single firefighter have to be so disturbed? Is no one sober, straight or in it for the right reasons?

As a woman, a mother of a daughter, and a wife of a firefighter, I'm appalled at the desensitizing of sexism on this program and of some of the viewers. I've known many firefighters over the years, and none of them speak about women the way the characters do in this program. And before some wise-ass suggests that they do, just when I'm not there, don't try to tell me what my friends do or don't do. I know them well. And these firefighters are also appalled and disgusted at the way the guys are portrayed as nothing more than Cro-Magnon men with a preoccupation with banging, their johnsons and pussies. The lazy writing degrades women, not to mention sex itself. This doesn't even come close to a fair portrayal and is a one-dimensional reflection. Poorly done, and shameful.
