Bose Soundlink Wireless - connect to TV with bluetooth wireless adapter

Just wondering if it is possible to connect my TV to the soundlink using a bluetooth adapter that plugs in to the headphone socket of the TV?

I would think it is possible but my only concern is that neither device would have an input to choose the other - would they just automatically connect if they were in range?

Any thoughts

Yes, I have successfully (and easily) paired my Soundlink Portable speaker to my Plantronics Backbeat 906 Bluetooth dongle which was connected to the audio output of my Sony NX710 tv.

Oh, and yes, they paired automatically when both were in pairing mode (I did turn off bluetooth on my iPad and iPhone so they wouldn't pair with the Bose before the Plantronics dongle could)...now, the Plantronics dongle (which I often use with my Sony tv) is in the memory of the Soundlink to make future connections quick and automatic...

@boconnor55

Thanks, I had the same question regarding a connection to a TV. I will check out the Plantronics Backbeat 906 Bluetooth dongle because the Bose USB key doesn't link with my Sony TV. I wonder if you could tell me whether the Plantronics Backbeat 906 Bluetooth dongle would allow me to listen to music on my Bose system from a vinyl record player?

Well, technically, I guess that the Bose USB key links with Soundlink when I plug into my TV, but it won't synchronize or read to input to send the audio to my Bose Wave. Hence, my interest in the Plantronics Backbeat 906 Bluetooth.

Do you think this type of connection will also work on a Samsung TV?

Does anyone know if 2 of the Soundlink can function as stereo speakers. That is, one serving as the left and the other as the right channel, so as to get stereo separation?
