Neither I think there recent concerts have been fantastic and if Sambora never comes back I will still be going to see them they are a band and there the best. However much as I am angry at Sambora. I do think that when he is with the band he has something that he adds, but I think he has left the situation to long now and I don't think it can be mended. I don't rate Sambora on his own sorry.

Well I would say neither. What I miss most about Richie is the harmonies. Richie and Jon's voices just harmonize very well but Phil adds a new energy and brings back some of the rock 'n roll. It is a bit different...not better and certainly not worse. It is a great show!

I'm disillusioned from Richie because of his behavior. :( He quit the band in the middle of the tour unexpectedly and send messages through the newspapers...it's a shame :(

Can someone tell me why you think it's "better" without him? I just don't get it.
I definitely think it's not AS good without Richie.

I don't know what to think about that question .... makes me feel, sad or angry. Maybe it is way too soon to ask that.

I don't really think anyone thinks it's better. However, I do believe most fans think Phil is an excellent player, fits in well and while the shows are different without question, I feel most think it is still a great show and a very good band. I also think most feel it's not a dire, end of the world type of thing that Richie isn't there. Everyone would of course rather have the band playing for them be whole, be the band personel wise that they have always been, but since we can't fix this situation most are making the best of it and enjoying who we have there and what we are getting.

Worse! The magic of Bon Jovi is gone without Richie.
The interactions between Jon and Richie, their harmonies, Richie's extended solos and the fact they can play any song requested without rehearsing is why I go see them again and again and again. Phil is great but the chemistry and the band energy is gone. It's now a JBJ and friends gig and that is not the Bon Jovi I love and used to travel the world to see.

I'm glad they finish this tour before Christmas. Hopefully Jon will take some time off from the band so they can come back stronger and better, the way they used to be until this April.

It's worse in my opinion.I'm used to Richie presence, style and way of playing. He belongs to the band for a lifetime.Of course ,nothing against phil x but he's in a replacement, and has never been part of the family bon jovi, for real. He's just a good guitar player.
I feel sad when watch videos of all the band together and really hope some day I'll see them playing together again. I'm able to forget this "bad moment" and be happy watching the band united and performing together.Yesterday I was watching a youtube vid where Richie shouts "australiaaaaaaa" in an interview... haha so fun ! Miss him so so much..That's my feeling

Thanks for posting that clip. It was awesome!! I remember now that Richie truly is talented and I love that song too. Why can't we go back to that time????

Worse..... if you didn't believe that just wait til the next record comes out..... see if it sounds like bon jovi.....
bon jovi wouldn't be bon jovi without their songs and most songs were co-written by richie

So much worse, but you mention writing credits, go to wiki and pull the albums - Richie on 10 to 12 in the past only 5 WAN. Already going that way? Most don't think it is a "great" album - number 1 for 1 or 2 weeks after the big amazon $5 push. I really want them whole, never wanted to see them sizzle but when they hang it up - go out in a blaze of glory. Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.

Was just ready some tweets about tonight's concert....doesn't sound "better" to me.

Hey Bon Jovi! If I wanted to hear that many cover songs, I would have gone to "club San-Do"! Geez!

Bon Jovi was a bit of a letdown...song selection wasn't the best. Still, I enjoyed livin on a prayer and it's my life

Hey!@BonJovi ! WHERE THE FVCK IS @TheRealSambora! It's just not as good without him..

Was that the intermission?@BonJovi If you think cover songs and soli acoustics make up for the loss of Rich, you're wrong.#wasteofmoney

just home from the Bon Jovi concert at SPAC .... great show but I thought he played too many cover songs !

I agree with everything you said. That's exactly how I see it.
They need to end this BS and get Richie back where he belongs!

I say worse, the magic is missing something, still a good show, but not a GREAT show. Richie and Jon need to figure stuff out. They've been buds for way too long for this to be the end. I see BonJovi becoming JON Bon Jovi. Which is his right, but would miss the brotherhood of the past 30 years so much, and would make me so, so SAD !

An old interview with Richie but I like to hear about the early days of Bon Jovi.

Why does it has to be a question of better or worse? Think about it this way, if Phil X had been with Bon Jovi for 30 years and Phil X left and Richie replaced him people would be wanting Phil X back! I can buy the idea of it being different now. But different is not better or worse it is just different IMHO.
