I posted that if they sold 50, could be possible leaving some $$ for the venue, supplies, whatever, but I just remembered the main Con posted they sold about 300 tickets, so obviously they had to have a LOT of expenses to come down to that donation, or it was another lie?

I sincerely hope this is not another lie! Considering all the lies, hate spread by the con to those who questioned them, and censorship, their credibility is a bit shaky. If they sold 300 (Hard to believe that 275 people would not show up)then their donation should have been a LOT bigger!

I totally agree.
Based on their proven history, you never know when they are telling the truth. Was the 300 true? Is the donation amount true? The only truth I see is that they were around 20/25 people at the event. They claim that no matter what they say, people won't believe them, I wonder why.

From some of JoviCON's other posts on different FB pages, it appears that $381 donations were made to both the Soul Kitchen and the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, but the actual total has not been posted anywhere that I have seen.

I am happy to hear that there were proceeds from the "friendship fundraiser", although with advertising this event for almost a year and all the remarks about the great bracelet sales that were made during that time, along with the items that were for sale at the event and the additional raffle tickets that were sold that day, I did think that the donation amounts were have been higher. I do hope the donations were actually made in the name of JoviCON and not the personal names of the organizers.

I wonder how many of the friends coming from Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom mentioned on their website actually attended or if they just bought bracelets and helped contribute to the donation amount.

No updates on their jovicon.net website, but some pages are now blank so perhaps they are still working on it.

Many "?" that are left ignored. It definitely doesn't add up, the amount they claim to have been donated, and the amount of bracelets claimed to be sold, and (thanks for the reminder), the raffle tickets sold at the event. May be part of the event expenses were the trips of the organizers to NJ.
Good point if the donation was made in name of Jovicon, or a couple people. Also good point about all those people that were going to attend from far away countries. What a wasted opportunity to showcase them on their pictures, and given testimony if they truly came, so I highly doubt it.

Jovicon friends are now taking over the Beware page, to give kudos and say how wonderful everything was, do they really believe it?

The con friends are blind which is howthey got tied up with this group to begin with. I wish the ladies of the beware page could block their posts as con blocked many other people. However, they have too much class. Yes, many unanswered questions. For all anyne knows, they could have donated$10 jus to have their name appearon the donation page. Oh well, tour is coming up and most of us will be going to see the real thing and now a second rate cover band. I believe that if they had foreign visitors at the con, they would have paraded them out like prize ponies

I think that those 20/30 people that showed up, did for a couple reasons... 1)they had something to proof to "someone", 2)they have not much going on on their lives so this had to be a thrill, 3) because they were local and curious or liked the tribute band.
Not many of those that went, will change their minds, because they still will believe what Jovicon feeds them, plus it beats sitting all day drinking beer and having a spitting contest, LMAO

Saving money for the tour, to meet friends while you see the real band, and donating to Jon's charities when you can, not only when someone says give me your money, we will donate on your name, looks like the better plan. ;-)

Of course it was a scam.
The organizers and esp. the head honcho are known in Bon Jovi world as liars, manipulators.
IMO they never had any intention of donating anything.Just SAYING that they were donating to Jon's charities was their HOOK to get people to buy into the whole thing. That's what scammers DO! They prey on people's weaknesses and kindness.
Anyone who believes that they had good intentions should look back on this thread and look back on the Beware page.

If people say "be cautious" it is usually justified and especially when Bon Jovi is involved.

If this was a legitimate event with nothing to hide, the organizers would have identified themselves and answered questions but instead they HIDE and BLOCK people. That's a gigantic red flag! How much more obvious can it get?
Then remember when they supposedly handed the reins over to someone else? That was ANOTHER LIE!

Just SAYING they donated to the SK and SF doesn't mean that they actually did.

As we know, when a donation is made to a charity, a letter of thanks and confirmation is sent to the donor. Wonder if they'll produce a letter. My guess is no.

IMO the whole JoviCon thing was one big "GOTCHA"

Couldn't have said it better Soulful and goodthat MANY people were believers of those trying to warn them. That is why only 25 showed up and a year's work was for nothing. Not quite the scam that they thought they would pull. Gonna be a whole lot harder to pull it a second time.I would like to see a letter of thanks and they should be proudly displaying it if they really did make a donation instead of posting pictures and lewd comments on their page. And the hate that they spread to all those who doubted them was disgraceful and certainly not something the band would condone

Don't give them ideas, because after using pictures and logos that nobody knows if they had permission to use, to "reproduce" a thank you letter from the Soul Foundation, would be a piece of cake, and something I think they are very capable to do, to "prove" the haters (what a "professional" term to address those that questioned them) wrong.

Unless they have stationery with the official letterhead of the Soul Foundation they won't be able to reproduce a letter.

I donated in the past and got thank you letters, if they get hold of one, it can be done.

If they didn't get a non for profit status, don't they have to pay taxes on the money collected?

It looks like Jovicon.net is gone, unless they offer recipes now, LOL. Nice way to proudly announce their donation and show off all those pictures of people having fun. I wonder if the main organizer is also missing in FB?

A bit disappointing (JMHO), that the Beware page went to limbo land, no final announcement of "their facts", no saying if they will keep watching the Con in the future or not. Looks like they gave up at the end, and (I might be wrong), looks like the number of their likes keeps going down. I do not think people would bother to change it, if they lost interest themselves, so perhaps were also waiting for a final update that never came.

Sorry to see the end of a very dedicated effort to bring information to everyone, to just be perceived as admitting the Con "won". If that's their feeling better delete the page.

Or maybe the con pictures and video were clear enough it was a failure.

Chris, I think you might be making some assessements about the beware page that are unfounded. As Bon Jersey said, I think the pictures and videos are proof that this event was a total failure. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. You saw the pictures; I know you made your conclusions.

Since the Beware page was so diligent in watching the con and presenting the facts, if there is another con (pardon the pun), I would bet the ranch that they will be back

If the members of the Bewate group are fine with the con making the last post, then everyone happy LOL

I don't think it is a competition as to who has the last word. Trust me, I doubt that the Con is going to have the last word!LOL. AND as far as a donation to SF ad SK, I seriously doubt, as do MANY people, that there was ever any donation made.
