Jon said he adores Hillary Clinton and how great she is and that everybody no matter the political views has to respect her for her hard work as first lady, senator and secretary of state and that she represents women real great. And he said if she would run again in four years she would make a great president but right now she just needs to rest and catch up on sleep. And he said if she's gonna run again he wants to be vice president. lol

In the Italian interview he talked about Because we can and saying that the song is about the situation in American economically and politically and that it expresses that no one can do it alone, the economic system can't do it alone, the government can do it alone, nobody can do it alone. And so many people are disillusioned and frustrated right now and say that they don't care for nothing and nobody anymore so why should they do something to which Jon answers "Because we can".

That's a summary of both interviews :D

Libs like Jon think they speak for America. We are not all disillusioned here. Only those stupid enough to be blinded by the light. Hillary Clinton doesnt represent all women. I know women who really.cant stand her or what she.represents. I dont think shes that great. Can someone tell me what she has done.that.is so great. How about a list.of facts. Not what position she held.

I have never cared for Hillary some how the American people got stuck with her after Bill left office. The one thing I do respect about Hillary is that way she handled herself when Bill got caught cheating on her. I don't think I could have been as gracious.

Let me say up front that I share a good many political views with JBJ. One of them being Pres Obama. But I do get tired of his constant political agenda. There is something to be said for promoting your record without promoting your president. I am begining to wonder if he can talk about anything else. He seems to twist any interview into a convo about his political views. I guess it is to much for him to understand that a music fan might just want to hear about the music and the band.

I totally understand what your saying charlotte. There are a number of BJ fans that don't care to hear about his political views, but I don't think is intentionally pushing his viewpoints on the fans. I think he is just passionate about what he believes in. He never in his interviews pushed his agenda onto anyone or the fans. I think when he was 25 years old, and slippery when wet came out and it was the biggest record at that time, I don't think that the Jon at 25 saw Jon at 50 doing the same thing he was doing at 25 years old, makes sense? I think he was looking at the bigger picture, he wanted to make his mark. Thats just my opinion, but I totally respect yours.

I think he gets asked about politics / philanthrophy now whereas he didn't get asked 20 years ago. Reporters have discovered that he is energized when talking about his politics / philanthrophy whereas the same questions that he has answered thousands of times are boring for both Jon and the interviewers.

Also, asking rock star about his marriage or his views on sex (or his sex life is general) is one thing at 30 and another thing entirely at 50. Jon enjoyed playing the innuendo game and being flirtatious when he was young but it has a whole different vibe in his 50s. Remember the comments about his Avon commercials when some posters thought the model was too young for him and the scenes had an icky vibe?

I don't think he is pushing an agenda beyond encouraging people to get involved in some way, shape or form that represents their own values and beliefs. So he talks about his involvement but is not specifically recruiting for anyone. If people are following "his" beliefs just because they are a super fan, that is their problem, not Jon's

Bravo!! very well said. Also another thing to remember most of the songs are inspired by the current political environment and so when he talks about the songs in general, he will bring up President Obama, so it's not so much Jon promoting him or asking you to vote to him but basically talking about the songs which are about the President.
