This is the worst concert BJ I have ever gone too. I hope who ever on this board and knows the band tell them to STOP this bullshit set list and get REAL!! It's half way through the set and I'm bored out of my brain.

You must have been the only person in the stadium who wasn't having a great time.

No there were many of us!!!! We have been seeing them since the first Australian shows in 1987. This was the most disappointing show I have been too. It wasn't a Rock'n'Roll show it was Boot Scooting with that disappointing set list! 4 songs from LH. 2 from NJ!

I don't get into arguments about setlists because obviously what one person enjoys is not always the same as anothers. I enjoyed the show last night and for the most part enjoyed the songs. My hubby was a bit disappointed in the set list and like Mia thought there was too much LH. And he came out with the old clanger "why did they play so many songs off the new album?'. Ah, because the concert was named after and to promote the album, der! lol I really loved that they did Beauty Queen from Mars and Diamond Ring. I read some talk about how Jon's voice was holding up so was interested in that and at times I thought he struggled and then at others it was beautiful, like when he did Amen and Memory. I did hear him have a cough or 2 so maybe something is up there. Two things that I was really happily surprised with - Kid Rock - he really is a rock and roll genius. I thought he was awesome and Phil X!! I wanted to sell our tickets when I heard RS was not going to be with the band but was talked into going by the hubby. He seemed to fit right in and did a great rendition of an ACDC song and when they did Wanted he sounded exactly like Richie so much so that I felt a little sad. He has a great voice. One thing I will say about JB is he gave absolutely 100%. So, I for one had a great night and hope they return (but pls with Richie Sambora!)

Claudia fair review, your husband and I are from the same school. I'm on way going to have a few drinks to enjoy the show. For the record I never drink at concerts but if it's going to be the ballads fest 2013 like last night, a drink is necessary.

Unfortunately I think the set lists are very much down to what Jon can actually manage to sing without sounding like a strangled cat. Unless Jon pays a visit to a vocal coach for the next tour the set list will always be like this.

I was at both Sydney shows, up near the front and Jon's voice sounded incredible for both. I heard from people who were in the nosebleeds that the sound was bad for them, but up close there was nothing wrong with his voice at all. I actually thought they were two of the best concerts I have ever seen the band do, and I have been going to their concerts for over 20 years now.

Have to agree. The 2nd Sydney show was just simply amazing. No words to give it justice. And Phil x is one very appreciated person that's for sure!

I was at the 1st concert and I did think the sound was very distorted and was hard to hear what Jon was saying...I did get told the design of the stadium has a lot to do with it?

Admittedly I was right down the back amongst the p*** heads who didn't know hardly any songs and girls who just wanted to take "selfies" but that's ok...everyone goes to concerts for different reasons! Lol

I was at the 2 Melbourne concerts where I was in the pit on the 1st night and very close to pit 2nd night and the sound was perfect, although it was a closed stadium...so I reckon the sound would be worse in an open air stadium.

I thought the set list in Sydney could of been bit better..when I saw the songs he sang on the 2nd night it looked awesome..I really wished they had announced they were doing the 2nd concert sooner..so I could of gone...
