JMO opinion but the answer is NO...not one bad seat in the pit...especially for arena shows where it is about half the size of stadium shows

I have been all over the pits...center aisle/middle of the row/outside aisle...front row/middle rows/back rows. Each has some advantages over others.

At my last show I was on a JBJSF ticket...David's side, row 4, seat 8. Might not sound very good to some, but I loved it there. With the way the seats curve around the stage, I was on an angle looking at the stage and perfect sight lines to everyone. It was on the side of the pit that Jon used to walk through to get to the back stairs, so he passed by a few feet from me. It was very easy to get out to move over to the ramp after Jon cleared the area. When Jon started the LTOR center aisle walk, I was able to move over and was only a few seats away.

I should also mention that the cameras surrounding the stage are now all programmed/mechanical with no operator. Because of this, they do not have to allow for the extra space needed for crew to operate that camera and the actual distance between the front row now as to what it was before before is closer. Not so good for stadium shows where the stage is high, but very cool for the arena shows.

I was in the first row of the sections for Pittsburgh and I had a aweome view! I needed no zoom! I would love the chance to be in the pitt, but it is not in my budget! I feel no matter where you seat for Bon Jovi, you have a great seat !

Thank you SO much for the info, I was thinking that Jon would be moving all over the stage, but when you face the stage, I am in Pit #1, row C.... I was trying to find out how many seats in a row so I could see how far off to the side of the stage I am at.... Silly, huh? All this worrying, otherwise I had a choice for front row, seats # 17-18, but those sounded " isolated "....wish there was an over head view with the seats numbered....any more info you can give me ??

I sat in row 6 - the last row in the pit and I am about 5 feet tall. Best time I ever had! I could see perfectly - so I would say there are no bad seats in the pit. Got a hand slap from Jon as he was going out to the outer circle and a double hand slap as he was heading back to the main stage. The only time anyone sat was when the concert was over and we were waiting to leave. Congrats on the tickets! You will have an awesome time!

Any place in the pit is a great seat. The pit is so small in an arena.

So far there has not been any standard for the pit numbering. Sometimes 1 has been Richie's side and sometimes David's...all depends on your venue. There are 18 seats in the first two rows in each section with seat 1 being on the inside aisle. Seats 17 * 18 would be on the outside edge. The big advantage of those outside seats is being able to move over to the ramp when anyone is on it.

Not a diagram, but an overhead shot taken by David Bergman...the offical BJ photographer..at the Toronto Feb 14 show. There are some other pit photos for the various shows that give an excellent feel for the size of the pit...

@mgemay: this is awesome, thanks for the link, exactly what I was looking for, which has prompted me to check out the photos :-) It also confirms that pretty much any "pit" seat will be great! Thanks for your help!

Okay, here's another question: which is better to purchase, JBJ Backstage "Bounce" package, or VIP Pit package Make a Memory ?

Welcome...it's really up to you and what you want as each has their own advantages.

With TM you know exactly where your seats will be. With the fan club you only know the row.

With TM you have to buy a pair. With fan club, you can buy only one.

With TM you have unlimited food & booze/wine/beer (depending on the venue). With fan club, no alcohol because you are eating with crew/staff in the catered lunchroom.

If you want to do the backstage tour, it is only available through the fan club packages.

Hi all!
This will be my first time in the pit! I have pit 3 seats 1 & 2, 4th row. Does anyone know if seats 1 & 2 are center isle or if they'll be on the side?

Can't wait!! I'm so excited! Saw them from the front row for Keep the Faith tour...but no such thing back then! Haven't been this close since!

There are four sections inside the pit. Based on last tour, Pit 3 could have been directly in front of Richie or in front of David dependin on where the pits were numbers from left to right or right to left. The seats were numbered with 1 on the center aisle going to the outside of the pit. IMO row 4 is the perfect place to be at the stadiums as the stage is high and if you are any closer you can see Tico or David very well.

Awesome!! Thank you so much mgemay! Pit 3 is definitely Richie's side according to the stadium chart and I'm glad to hear 4th row is "the perfect place to be!" The show will be at Soldier Field (Chicago Bears Stadium) so I am anticipating a high stage.

And I am super excited to hear that seat one is center isle. I think I scored the perfect seats!:)

We saved up to do the VIP package, so I'm also excited to go on stage and take pics with the guitar, mic, keyboards and drums!

Best wishes to you for your next Bon Jovi adventure!

Welcome...last tour at Soldier Field #2, Richie's pit, row 4, seat 10...perfect spot IMO. The tours are fun. You can't actual sit at Tico's kit or step up into David's keyboard areas, but you get to take a photo wearing one of Richie's guitars and have your photo taken at the white mic stand and hold Jon's maracas. Dinner if good too.

Thanks..my adventures are in February and July. Enjoy your concert!!

Waiting 8 hours to get into a show sounds like it would be GA. No reason to wait that long with assigned seats.

Last tour, sometime during the week before the show, you'll receive an email with instructions on how/where to pick up your tickets and the time to be there for the VIP preconcert party. You are given further instructions when you actually collect your tickets re exact timing as each show is dependant on the band's schedule for that day. Last tour, the events usually started after the band finished soundcheck...say anytime after 5pm with ticket pickup starting around 4pm.
