what the hell happened between Richie and the band?!! If its something so simple just tell the fans what happened. Im tired of the speculation. I didnt buy tickets for the show June 26 here in Portugal, i wont go this time. All the situation makes me sad.
Ive been a fan for almost 20 years, i deserve the truth, we all do!! Everytime Jon talks about it seems so fake! Hes hiding something!!
Sorry,i feel disrespected, Bon Jovi will loose a Fan

I'm sorry you feel that way. I know a lot of people are angry and I'm my sure they are getting the message loud and clear. Whatever the personal issue is sometimes we have to accept that we will never know.

I'm assuming that your not going due to Richie not being on tour. Which is your choice. I love all the members but Richie has a special play in my heart but there was no way I wouldn't go. I bought my tickets for the Australian shows.

Don't take Richie's absence personally, we probably will never know the truth. I would hate for you to miss a show, you never know he might be back by the time the show in Portugal is played. I was lucky enough to be traveling Europe in 2011 and went to the Portugal show. What a show!!! It was amazing and that was partly due to the audience. Just saying.

I agree with you. Jon IS hiding something.(look at the way he plays with those spoons in the interview with Tico the other day and sunglasses again? Come on Jon you were never a big sunglass indoor guy. That's a Richie trademark. I think Richie is bound by contract NOT to say anything so if Jon says ask Richie he is really saying go make him break his silence and contract.

Im sorry you won't be a the show but if You are already set up to not have fun then don't go. I feel you need to want to see them with out Richie otherwise it's just a bad experience. Been there done that.

In all fairness we do not Deserve a reason. It should have been good enough with personal reasons. Jon is now the driving force behind getting everyone riled up with a need to know.

What do I feel we need to know about this? That Richie is alive (we know this) That when he can (contractually or emotionally) Let us know if he will return to Bon Jovi or not. That if not When the date of his first solo gig will be and where (Ill be first in line for tickets)

Look throughout his career, there are hundreds if interviews where Jon wears sunglasses. Going back all the way to the Slippery tour. Its not new.

Definitely disagree with you on this remark. Absolutely zero to do with a "Richie trademark" IMO. I can't count the times over the years, Jon has worn sunglasses inside, especially when doing interviews and press conferences as with the mega lights and flashbulbs going off.

Add to it we know he had an allergy attack not long before this press conference and I know my eyes are always more sensitive to brightness when my allergies are acting up.

Well said Teri. But..........

I don't think Richie owes us anything. He does not have to give me an explanation or an apology. I would like to know if he has quit or not. But I also feel like if he is not on stage 6/6 that question will have been answered by dufault. Then the question will be when is Jon going to admit it?

And once again Jon is blamed for Richie's actions, while he tries to answer questions without telling Richie's personal business and Richie tweets about his wonderful life. Oh, well. And I agree with the other ladies that you'll see Jon with sunglasses more often than without. He's always hiding those baby blues :D

Why does Jon have to admit it? Richie will have to show some respect and explain to his fans that he has left the band.

Every time I've come on here in the last month or so, I just read and shake my head. I don't get it. EVERYONE knows the loyalty these band members have to each other. Why anyone thinks one is going to say anything about the other is beyond me. It's not going to happen. Their loyalty is legendary. Jon is not hiding anything. He's respecting the wishes of his band brother. It's just that simple. Doesn't anyone remember the words to "Blood on Blood?" It is what it is. If he comes back, he comes back. If he doesn't, he doesn't. If you want to go see them without Richie, do it. If you don't want to see them without Richie, don't. I can guarantee you, the show is still amazing. Just like Jon said, it's different, but it's still a great show. Sheesh, let it go already.

I don't understand why everyone thinks Jon owes the explanation. He keeps getting asked and he keeps saying ask Richie. It is not Jon's "personal issue" to discuss. Richie does seem to have commitment issues lately for whatever reason. I love this band and I would never miss a concert. And Phil X is doing an awesome job!

I posted this in the 'Richie Tweeted' thread, but I'll include it here, too, because it fits the topic at hand. Someone on JoviTalk had a friend who talked to Obie. Here's how it went:

'I did talk to Obie yesterday inside the stadium. I asked him about Richie, he said he talks to him regularly and that he will definitely be back, just right now he has sone family stuff to take care about. I said, to me it looks like Richie is enjoying being a dad right now, and Obie said that yeah, Richie is spending a lot of time with his daughter, hinting in that direction.

'I said that we are confused since we didn't get a definite statement from anyone, and Obie said Richie wanted to keep this issue as low as possible (paraphrasing, since I don't remember the exact words).

'That's what he said. Don't know if he made it up or not, but he sounded definite about his return. My friend asked if there's a chance to see Richie in Cologne and Obie said yeah.'

Obviously, you have not seen any interviews of Jon or you would have seen the many, many interviews where he wears sunglasses inside and I'm talking about since the very beginning. Youtube, you will be amazed!

Jon doesn't need to explain anything, he has talked at least 3 times from my count, now it's time for Richie to talk. No one needs to talk on Richie's behalf, his not a little boy. No one should be holding his hand and cleaning up his crap. Personally, I don't care if Richie talks, his reasons are his reasons and for him, they were important to miss the tour. I, along with others would like an apology. Just a simple sorry would be fine. Obviously, Richie doesn''t think his fans deserve that.

This information is much like the information that "Raynesong" has been posting for the last week. She had a friend that spoke to Obie and was given a Richie return date of June something. Raynesong also posted that Ava is possibly the reason for the absence of Richie on the tour. You ladies might have something after all.

Jon did a new interview; here's what is said about Richie:

'But one member is notable by his absence. Lead guitarist Richie Sambora started the tour in the States but last month committed the ultimate professional sin of not turning up to a gig.

Sambora has had spells in rehab and rumours circulated that he was drinking again. But the door remains open.

Sipping water in his suite, 24 hours before a sell-out gig, Jon says:We were all in Calgary, Richie was going to turn up on show day but we went the night before because its a long flight.

At 3.30pm on show day the phone rang and it was Paul the manager and he said guess what, and he didnt even have to finish the sentence. I said, youre kidding. We went on that night. I havent seen Richie since.

Love him, spoken to him once. I talked to him once, once in six weeks and 18 shows. Hes not fired, we didnt have a fight, it certainly isnt about money.

We go back 30 years. He can return when he is ready to die every night the way I walk on the stage. Its different without Richie. No ones mad, no ones sad. But fortunately because we had been through it before we performed that night. We couldnt let down the fans.

I am just tired with all the contradictions !!!!! And it seems that whatever Jon does or says, some will always doubt it's true .... What is reported as Obie's explanation does not match with what is said as Jon's explanation ..... So one is lying or just telling someone what that someone wants to hear ..... Maybe somethings will be more clear after June 6th show if ever Richie comes back then. I agree Richie could have at least say sorry to his fans instead of keeping saying he's f...great. I attach a lot of importance to the sense of professionnalism in any circumstances (I mean not only as BJ is concerned but in any matter of any job and of any employee or employer) so, for me, so far, Richie's behaviour disappoints me whereas Jon's just fine. The future days and weeks will maybe show me if my opinion on that was right or wrong.

And to the ones who criticize Jon's behaviour saying that the tour is still going on and then this is why he does not want to tell anything more in order to keep people coming to the shows, that in one word, he just think about money and his image, I would answer what someone already said here : just think about all the staff working for the tour, who depend on that job and also think about fans who, in addition to the tickets, had to book plane, train and hotel rooms and who won't get everything refunded ..... No, really, IMO so far loyalty and professionnalism are on the Boss side !

Werent you people paying f'cn attention???? Richie's been posting about a vid contest which was announced before the GDd tour!!!! He had prior commitments. Second didnt you ppl catch his post called "Forgiveness Street" either?? Oh lemme guess you dorks slept through that too!! He own fans NOTHING. Zip zilch nada. Feeling a bit 'entitled' arent you. Give it a rest already! Get over yourselves. Find something else to obsess over.

If Richie's definitely going to be back, someone had better tell Jon. When asked about it, he can't give a better answer than "I hope so", which sounds far from certain. When asked about it, Jon should say, "I can promise fans Richie will be back, we just don't know when yet, but he's coming back for sure" if it's true that he is.

And so far his answers are very far from that ..... So again, I do not know who to believe .....
