Sorry this is so long but it's a critique of last night's show that was originally emailed to a friend of mine.

I purchased the Heart and Dagger package. I was in a great mood on the way down. Good weather day, good hairday, good makeup day and the last digit on my scale was a "0" and not a "9" which means I relost those 10 lbs that I had gained 5 on. Met up with my friend "L" who I met at a 2007 concert. We had to stand outside in -10 degrees celcius for about 1/2 an hour for backstage to open up. They were late because security was late. We later saw security being scolded. When they let us in to wait in line, we heard the boys doing sound check singing Because we Can. We thought of sneaking in, but would have to go past security and I don't have the body to bribe anyone. Got our packages ("L" bought a different pkg which didn't entitle her to a tour, but they slipped a bracelet on her anyway and she went with the flow). We were ushered into a lovely restaurant where they had wine waiting for us. The buffet was surprisingly high quality; salads, cheese, cold cuts, beef bourginon, chicken paramsean, pasta, roasted potatos, and an assortment of veggies. I was able to keep to my gluten free diet although I did have a brownie and that was great too. We could have all the wine we wanted and I ended up having 3 glasses of red which was a great wine too. We sat with the two girls we met in the lineup and they were fun too. So there was no tour bus. It was a moblie museum which consisted of 6 or so of Jon's jackets he wore on past tours. I have a picture with one. The restaurant had a nice high class feel to it and they played BJ music softly in the background. So to be in a nice restaurant, drinking wine, eating well and laughing with a group of girls really made my experience so much better. "L" and I went on the backstage tour with Rob and Alley from Backstage. We saw where Jon's and Richie's guitars were kept, saw their "sound area", went on stage and saw that white mic. Saw the set up of Jon's stuff; clock, water, tea, gun, towel. I really wanted to take something but I would die if I got caught. "L" found a guitar pic on the ground and kept it. Went back to the restaurant and then freshened up for the show. "L" sat in the 4th row from the circle stage and I took my position in row 2 in the pit. The boyz came on and it was awesome. No one in the pit sat the entire time except one chick who got out her mirror and reapplied her makeup. I was mildly "flushed" and made a note to self to wear something cooler with comfortable shoes for my next show. Jon was in a good mood but you know, he didn't move around too much, didn't do any of his jumps that he usually does and the end of some songs but he did try to make eye contact with everyone there. He played for 2 1/2 hours and I boogied with the best of them. When Jon and Richie did their duet on the circle stage, I noticed a couple of girls in my row go and stand and the edge of the circle so I went too and I was the last one lined up. And what does Jon do as he walks back to the stage, he slaps hands with the people on the edge and he got me too. So it wasn't a high five, it was more of side swipe but I managed to grab hold of his fingers and you know, they were cool and a little clammy. I couldn't believe it. So yes, the money was definitely worth it. It was the best BJ experience I've had, although it wasn't one of the better shows I've been to. So now I'm super excited about our show (I have been all along) but even more so now. They are playing again tonight in Toronto and it's unusual for me not to be going, but I know I wouldn't have that same wonderful feeling tonight. I was surprised that there weren't any jumbo trons used except for those sitting behind the stage. Now I've got What About Now and That's What the Water Made Me playing round and round in my head. I hope everyone enjoys their shows. Have a good one Toronto tonight.

I was at this show as well. This was my 10th time seeing the band and I have to say that it wasn't the best one. It was good, his voice is still amazing, he still looks amazing, the music was fantastic. But he was different. He didn't engage the crowd. He was not energetic at all, he looked a bit sluggish, almost like he was winded. It was not the Jon I saw 2 years ago at the ACC where he did not stop moving around the stage or smiling and looking like he genuinely wanted to be there. This almost felt like he was going through the motions a bit. I did enjoy the concert as it's Bon Jovi, it can never be bad. But he was clearly distracted and when he doesn't get into it, there's something up.

We were at the Washington, DC show on Feb. 10. Despite it being our first time in the pit ever, it was nowhere near the energy and connection we felt at past tours. I wonder what is up.....

The lack of energy on stage might have something to do with the comments he made recently in the altar boy interview near the bottom. He talks about the family being sad about him leaving home which makes him sad. It must be difficult being separated from the family in the beginning but they adjust to it after a while.

I was at the Toronto show tonite Feb. 18 and although I enjoyed it as I always do, I did feel the sound was not good and was disappointed that there were only 3 screens which happened to be directly over my head so although my seats were okay, they weren't close enough so I really missed the screens. Plus--what was up wih Jon wearing a jacket throughout the entire show??!!

There may lie the reason for his lack of energy. If he wore a jacket for the entire show, maybe he's not feeling well? I always find it so warm at the shows and wonder why he sometimes wears such heavy clothes. It seems like he wants to keep his body heat in. Who knows, I don't.

I read somewhere that there is alot of fans on stage blowing cold air and that is why they wear jackets.

Anybody think he may be a little concerned jumping so much, since he is older, and he did hurt himself bad twice last tour?

AEG live email today says 'Toronto Fans we love you and have a secret for you -we're coming back! Keep watching for details"

Saw both shows and I enjoyed them but wasn't what they usually deliver. Maybe he's just getting used to being on the road again??
I along with others I know were also disappointed he kept his jackets on. Lol

he hurt himself, but when he felt better after surgery he was jumping and running as usual. It was just 2 years ago,he's not that much older.I'm still thinking if there is sth wrong in his life that bothers him and stops him from being that crazy energetic man . I hope everything is ok with his family, and soon our JBJ will be jumping and running as always.

The way he talk in the new interview it's like he knew that he was not in full shape for the tour. I guess it is like someone who stops trainig for a time and must start over. It takes more time to get back in shape.

You know I had to read your reply twice because the first time I read it, I'm thinking to myself, "What fans (concert goers) would be blowing cold air onto the stage." and then I understood you meant air fans... forgive my stupidity.

I know, I thought he was crazy jumping like that after surgery...but that's our Jon. I was just saying, maybe that is back in his mind. It would be mine, especially this early in the tour :)

I guess I should of worded it differently. LOL!! I went back and read it again and it does sound like "fans of the band". I can't stop laughing.
