I was thinking about all the discussions that Jon may be seen by Richie as making it hard for him to come back. It reminded me about the dispute between Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. What would your reaction be if Richie was to do what Steven did when he just showed up at Joe's " Joe Perry Project ", after hearing that Joe had replaced him as lead vocals. Do you think Richie would be welcomed or kept off ? I understand that it's not the same venue as the current World Tour w/ Bonjovi, but I thought it would make for some real good discussions ! The Youtube video of Steven's "play" is : youtube.com/watch...
I hope that is correct, if not The title was Steven Tyler NOT QUITTING sings walk this way with Joe Perry Project

If he just shows up without his "personal issue" resolved, he will not be welcome and kept off stage.

Personally I would think Jon's backbone had turned to mush if, at this point, he lets Richie pick and choose where he plays and who he plays for. No, I'm not anti-Richie I'm pro fan. Play for everyone or no one.

This would make for great discussion. Steven and Joe's relationship has always been stormy and complicated. Aerosmith is truly a band they split all monies 5 equal ways. It has been like this from day one. When Steven showed up at Joe's solo gig, he mainly did it to piss Joe off and he did. Steven had his GF Erin with him that night and that was more fuel for the fire.

I cannot see any situation where Richie will just walk on stage. In spite of what the Brothers Grimm have been preaching since day one, Jon is not letting Richie come back. Richie even said so. He also said the fans are not getting their monies worth. BJ is not a band it is a cooperation and the CEO is Jon. It would be hard to compare the BJ situation to a normal band. It is my belief that BJ only claims to be a brotherhood. Steven and Joe truly are brother's. I would say Richie would be kept off.

You're welcome. I find it really really funny that I tried to start a little thread different from all the rest and get judged as spam, nuts, clueless even off topic ! LOL
Not too many on here can even just go with something and talkabout it . I thought that scenario would have been a blast to speculate about ! Thanks for your perspective ! I would love to see him try it though, it would be priceless ! I wish I did know how to put the Tyler/Perry video up here, I am clueless on that one LOL !

Speaking of videos and Aerosmith, could you see Richie doing this to Jon? LOL

No I really can't see that. I believe that they will sort through their issues but if they can't I don't think they would get on stage together with that much animosity.

Your link works.:)

While the circumstances are obviously different, I think it would be f'n awesome if Richie did that and I believe he will be back!

No I cannot see that happening. This is one of the times they were fighting. What I like about it, notice Joe watching Steven after he did it. Then he goes back and helps him up. I laugh every time I see this one.

My Lord I can make a horses a## out of myself ! I just saw that my link does work ! I have not been able to do any kind of Judging now, page just jumps up to the top. of course it could be me ! I would really like to see Richie walk out on stage, not as an insult to the one's he has missed, just to say, "hey, I'm back " I'm not talking about any specific venue either. Just back on the tour anywhere. I wonder what Phil X would do too ! It would be an epic moment IMO

LMAO Thanks for posting it Spiders Mom. Love it!

Weeks ago I asked why couldn't Richie just show up at a concert considering he's saying Jon's making it hard for him to come back. People answered that he'd never make it to the stage. My reply then and now is if that did in fact happen it would be evidence for Richie that he wasn't allowed back.

However, since he hasn't shown up willing to play I'm left with only one thought. I'm wondering if he isn't doing it because if he showed his fans that Jon is in fact not allowing him to play that Jon may, in turn, reveal why he wasn't allowed on stage and what he needs to do in order to rejoin the tour.

Can anyone think of any other reason he wouldn't just go to a venue and get up on stage? Even if he's in some kind of tiff with Jon or any other reason for him being away. Why couldn't he put whatever it is aside for the night and show up for his fans or at least try to?

I've wondered this myself, along with: How can Richie let Phil X stand up there night after night and play the solos that Richie wrote? If Richie is "an artist first" as he said in that Tweet, and if the fashion line isn't keeping him from touring, then what is?

I still think this is some sort of power play between Jon and Richie, whatever the origins of the issue. They are circling each other, so-to-speak. When Jon says Richie is welcome back whenever he is ready, he's making it sound like Richie /could/ just walk up on that stage. But I really think Jon might mean, "Richie is welcome back whenever he is ready (to agree to my terms)".

But if Richie is "taking a stand", he won't return on Jon's terms. Instead, Richie says, "Jon wants to see if he can fill stadiums by himself." Richie seems to hope Jon will "fall on his face", come back and say, "Yes, Richie, it turns out I do need you, so I'll agree to your terms as long as you come back."

That's just my take on this. That said, I would love if Richie were to just show up and walk on stage. I can't even watch the vids with Phil X this time around (I did a bit in 2011, because I knew the circumstances of Richie's absence then and knew he would be back). I have nothing against Phil X or his playing, but he's not Richie. To me, Richie completes the "magic" that is Bon Jovi.

IMO...at this point in time...Richie's just showing up could very well end up alienating a large number Richie's diehard supporters because there are many who decided to secure refunds and not go to Bon Jovi concerts when Richie would not be part of the show even though it was at a financial cost to those who had to change flights or lose deposits.

The announcementment was made that Richie would not be part of the SA/EU tour leg and I feel it should stay that way. When the day comes that Richie decides he wants to return to Bon Jovi, I would hope it's at the beginning of a tour leg and not the end.

That's a good point. One I hadn't considered, probably because I'm still going to go to concerts whether he's there or not. Thanks Mgemay.

Welcome...I am too. I've also bought tickets for more shows that have gone on sale after April 2 when Richie decided not to show up for work.

I know some fans who had tickets to several shows on this current leg and decided they would go to one or two before making any decisions. Some found they were happy enough to continue without Richie on stage. Others just didn't like it and then went about getting refunds and cancelling plans for the rest of their shows. Those are the fans who I think would be the most affected by Richie just showing up at one of the shows and jumping back on the tour.
