it's nice to know there is a re-vival...maybe that is what Marin needs...I was born and raised here, and believe you me it's not all about the Dead, it's about
the artists, poets, activists long before your time...and then it's also the folks that weathered thru that time who were not neccesarily a part of that culture, thanks to the families that were the foundation for the 'orgainic' movement that
were here long time ago yesterday. You folks out in West Marin hope you know what I'm talkin' about...times a changin'.BGHOZ

The confluence of kids exiting their youth programs at the Theatre as deadheads freely get stoned at the front door is not good planning. Who missed the mark on that one: the theater? the city? or does nobody think that's a bad idea?

Sure hope this mania doesn't spill over into Sausalito...the city will fence off the park downtown for another twenty years :O

I have a grateful dead sticker on my SUV. I hope that keeps the hippies from taking a dump in my driveway. Then again, it would probably raise my property value.

Cool! Mill Valley has had some great musical moments visitors and residents. Also, I saw Robin Williams down there once.

This article is really quite a bummer since what I've seen from the 5 out of 7 rehearsals so far that I've attended that it is a very small handful of people who are causing this negative image that ruins it for all of us. The number is less than 10 of them overall, they come without tickets and are obnoxious in public every night, and as well ... See Moreare so wasted drunk in the streets I'm not surprised we are getting complaints. It's just a real bummer for fans overall to have negative press when 99% of the people who are coming to Mill Valley for these shows are giving back to the community by spending money there.

I used to identify with the Dead, but I've grown up. Who really drops out of their own lives to follow a rock band but really troubled people?

From the story title, I thought that a GOP Convention was in town.

Those folks that live in the drug

> accused Deadheads of defecating in his driveway and stealing from his store

Really? Defecating in your driveway? I can't imagine that to be true. Seems like an overplayed 1980s stereotype.

We who attend these rehearsal shows are all "local," though maybe not Canepa. The rest of us have all been here before. We all know Canepa's stories not to be true. We take care of our each other as we have for decades. Our community extends well beyond those who attend shows.

Thank you to Mill Valley, the Masonic Hall, and the Throckmorton for hosting us these past couple of weeks. May 2010 be among your best years.

This should have been done at a new Sweetwater in MV. Too bad the people in charge couldn't get their act(s) together.

I think it has been great having these guys play here, and is a net bonus for the town. Canepa is full of it. Maybe the Marin IJ should do a story about the prices at the Mill Valley market- we have found some items that are almost twice as much at the Mill Valley Market compared to Whole Foods, and Whole Foods is not cheap! The Mill Valley Market marks up everything to outrageous prices. But to get back on the subject, this is the most excited we have been about the music since '95! They sound great!

I have been to these shows as well as many others at 142 Throckmorton. I always get something to eat at the MV market before a show, and I tell my friends to do the same. I WILL NEVER GO THERE BEFORE A SHOW AGAIN.

Wednesday night. it was so mellow that the MV police actually left within 1/2 hour of the show ending. The Fillmore staff is doing a great job and there is no need for the MV police to be there, except to protect the MV market from their own lies.
I now have incentive to get there early. Perhaps you will find me outside the MV market with article in hand making sure 142 Throckmorton patrons spend their money elsewhere. This guy deserves every bit of bad publicity and shame on the IJ and NBC for putting more light on what has been working beautifully.

Yea, but Marin has some of the most Miserable residents(as a whole) than any county I've live in. It goes to show you--money doesn't buy happiness. It's a cliche, once the sports car is paid for; it's time for plastic surgery and Whining(about everything--).
