John Mayer isn't hurting for hits. But even the multi-platinum pop and blues singer/songwriter doesn't have enough singles to fill a two-hour show.

John Mayer's show was good, but way too short! He played just over an hour, maybe 1 hr 15 min. I think he could have added more songs and made it 2 hours. He didn't even play Daughters, and he won a Grammy for it.

The part that was too short was when he took his shirt off. All men are NOT created equal. Voice, intellect, human, monster guitar masters -- and gorgeous. I'm in love.

WOW! What a great show, yes a bit short, but he delivered! Mayer, was playing the blues the right way and it sounded awesome. Congrats to all those troopers who sat in the rain.

I was at this concert last night -- let me just say that Merriweather is the worst venue. I cannot even comment on the music, as I could not see OR hear what happened due to the ineptitude of the venue. I expect a lot more for my 73$ (including exorbitant ticketmaster fee).

What exactly was disappointing about this performance? The ridiculous extended solos? The spot-on harmonies? Or maybe his stellar backing band? I wish he had played for 2 more hours! The guy puts on a hell of a show.

Exactly! He performed well, I thought. It was simply too short of a show. I am glad in hindsight that we didn't spend more on the covered seats. I would have really felt ripped off then.

Last night was great, if soggy and short. I've been seeing him since Room for Squares came out and last night did not disappoint.

Woah without a doubt John Mayer is amazing live. If you didn't catch that you have got to be tone deaf. Incredible guitar player and I feel like he really got the crowd into it. I heard the music perfectly and the rain just added to how memorable it was. Especially some of that lightning right before John came on. I thought it was incredible, but definitely agree that it was too short

LOVED the show!
Make no mistake about it - when it comes to guitar playing, He's the Jimmy Hendrix of our age. He could play "Mary had a Little Lamb" and I'm sure it would still send chills up my spine.
He could certainly spend some more time playing some more covers. I'd love to hear his version of "Little Wing" or even some SRV stuff. As a blues master there's a plethora of content he could fill another hour with.
My only critique would be that I wasn't too crazy about his cover of 'Free Falling'(it was way too mellow).

The covers were NOT GOOD! From working with many musicians in the music field I know a good performance when I see/hear one. And maybe it was just the acoustics on the lawn at Merriweather, but I have seen many a better show!

I thought it was good, but just that...good. I was dissapointed that he didn't play more of his own songs. I didn't like standing in the rain hearing songs I didn't recognize b/c i'm not into blues. There were tons of songs I loved that he didn't play and we paid to hear him play his music that we like, not random covers. By the end, I felt like his cover of Panama was just a little too self-indulgent-getting to live the life of an 80's rocker for a few minutes, while we stood in the rain and watched. If I wanted to see Van Halen or other various blues artists, I'd go see the real thing (or would have) like I was doing by seeing John Mayer :).

One more thing, in conclusion...I got the feeling he was playing what he felt like playing and not what the fans really wanted to hear or paid to hear for that matter.

HE SUCKS. JOHN MAYER ATTEMPTED TO KILL A TOM PETTY SONG. HE IS WORTHLESS AND HAS NO TALENT. HE SHOULD SHOW MORE RESPECT TO REAL ROCK 'N' ROLL
