It is time to pull the wall of secrecy down on this board that does not mingle, communication with not only the students and teachers, but the community as well. When did Thompson and or Stokley come into our college and talk to us? NEVER, they are out of touch and keep the secrecy perpetuted. We the stateholders deserve better.CHANGE IS GOOD!! Go Marquez, Go Tso!!!!!

I Hope these new board members actually come to campus. Right now the current board, doesnt come in except for convocation, and board meetings. They don't know what we want or need. They get paid to be there, and It is time for them to listen to what all of us need and want in our classrooms as well as in the building. Leaks through the halls, underpaid staff and faculty. Its time for a change. Put the EMPLOYEE'S first. Without us, the college is NOTHING!

Joseph Pope has been an active member of the San Juan College Orchestra since it began, 12 years ago, long before he was elected to the board. That puts him on campus at least once a week, and a lot more on concert weeks. You must not work in Huma, or come to the concerts.

Outstanding win yesterday Mr. Tso!!! Especially as a Write In candidate and over a person as well known and respected as Eva B. Stokely. She even has a school named after her. ;) The people truly voted for change last night and wanted someone new. Perhaps it is now time for the NM Senate in 2012?

Thank You, voters of San Juan County!!!! Only you made the difference in getting that EBStokely out of the seat. It is about time she got out. Because, of her and her buddies on the board SASI is getting downgraded to where the school it at. It is too sad to see that school going down. Voters, Thank You for being enlightened to not vote for EBS. Mr. Matthew Tso - you have been voted in to take the seat as Board Member at San Juan College. Please, keep your head on track and be an outstanding board member of our community school. It is easy for one to follow the creeps that suck as board members. Just stay focused!! Congrats to Mr. Tso.

Now it's time to get Eva B. off the SASI Board. Because of her she's been running the school into the ground and making decisions that have put the school in a $1 million budget hole.

What kind of logic is this???? Employees first LOL Don't know what you do there, but if there are no students, there will be no employees. Pull your head out, if the college is not about students, it will not exist, and there will be no employees.
What a maroon.

So What !!!!!!!!Half of the so-called straight people in San Juan County are closet cases any ways so what's the problem???If they have a brain and make good and reasonable decisions, I would rather have him then these straight people trying to get on the board to look good and not do a damn thing. Coolio if this is a inadequate candidate then please give me facts so I can make a judgment on his ability and not his sexuality. A persons heart and brain makes them a good person NOT who they are sleeping with.

Agreed! Matthew Tso is actually pretty sharp and intelligent. Whether he's gay or straight, it doesn't matter. In fact, many of the people who voted for him already know who he is and voted overwhelmingly to support him. Also, even if he were gay, he's a pretty hot guy and puts most straight guys to shame. lol.

You should have named yourself "clueless", instead of "coolio". Apparently you didn't even know he had already won because your post said: "are all of you going to really vote for a gay man?" Maybe you should read an article before you post on it!

Are you Native American? If not, your post makes perfect sense, coming from any other un-enlightened culture on the "gay" topic. But "two spirit" is suppose to be respected amongst the Navajo people. If you're Navajo, shame on you. If not, shame on you still.

Matthew, congratulations and bless you! We welcome you with open arms! I can't wait to meet you.

I don't think the post you replied to was talking about Board members coming on to campus and playing in the Orchestra. That's lovely and all, it really is. But, Board members should be coming onto campus for the EXPRESS purpose of engaging with students, staff, and faculty regarding important decisions they will be voting on which will affect those people greatly.
