My 93 plus year old mother lives on an extremely small fixed income. By doing away with Medicare as it is now and forcing a voucher system, you have just effectively signed her death warrant/certificate.

Dear gary, you are an illiterate. The ryan plan affects no one over the age of 55.

To the person who thinks the majority of the people need government intervention in their lives Scares The Helll out of me. I hope it does for you too.
If that is what this person believes then there are many Countries he/she can go to to get their wish. eg;Libia,Iran,Saudi Arabia, etc. Those Countries have people dying to get the Government out of their lives.

More proof that the Democrats scare tactics are very effective on the feeble minded. Next time try at least reading the proposed legislation yourself, instead of meerly regurgitating the Democrats talking points.

That and they rely on censorship of comments to stifle anyone who disagrees with them. Look at several of the forums. Some of the people writing columns for this paper are doing it too.

Caller:
"Like all Republicans, Jim Harbison has created his own reality. If the majority of citizens had a sense of responsibility, government intervention would not be necessary."

I don't know a thing about Harbison, and I agree that Rs are all massive hypocrits ... however ... the corallary to your statement is that people are irresponsible to the point of government intervention in their lives being a better option than their own choices.

WRONG WRONG WRONG the sum total of the judgements of all individuals is far greater than the judgement of a slave driver no matter the slave driver's intent or methods.

YOU know better for your life. Don't let the parasites tell you otherwise. It is the same arguement used to subject and oppress people for all of history. In the absence of force or fraud, your self interest is always best served by your own rational judgement than it is by the juggernaut - all they can do is redirect that force or fraud in your favor, but what goes around comes around, sheep

Caller:
"Mitt Romney officially announced, running as a Republican presidential candidate. Sadly, he is running as fast as he can from the most successful state health program in our country and the model for the affordable health care passed by Obama"

I don't care what he does in private, but his beleif in magic underwear, magic golden plates, god (quite literally) changing his mind about black people, and his beleif that he and his wife will be given a planet to rule as monarchs upon death will undoubtedly guide his governence.(Yes, mormons DO beleive all these things)

The burden to proove otherwise is on him.

Caller:
"Not raising the debt ceiling and allowing the U.S. to default on its loans is exactly the same as expecting home owners to totally pay off their mortgages today or lose their homes and have no more credit"

I hope Keynsian swine are happy with what they've done to our understanding of economics.

Of course they are - gulible id_ots are easy to control.

Caller:
"The war on drugs cannot and will not be won. Our prisons are full of people that are there at the expense of the taxpayers for using drugs. It is making the crooks extremely rich by selling those things"

Dig it amigo.

Prohibition works the same every time.

have you actually read Ryan's proposal? Under Ryan's proposal, Medicare would remain unchanged for those 55 or older, including the millions who now receive health care under the program. Anyone younger would be required to obtain coverage from a private insurer, with the government providing a subsidy to cover part of the cost of premiums.

c'mon people. educate yourselves before judging.

True, Martinez is more interested in paying back her supporters. Some out of state, more than New Mexicans.

Orville's proposal:
End all 138 foreign occupations and foreign aid, crop subsidies and prohibition. Use the savings to fulfill the promises we've made to the dependency generation(s) and cut all new contributions to zero. Now.

Remove all laws, statutes, and regulations that hinder private charities from providing an efficient social safety net - allow 100% write off for charitable contributions to such organizations, impose crazy-harsh punishment for defrauding this no-tax situation (harsh) zero tax on private retirement savings.

So basically, you could have back that massive chunk of your paycheck, everyone gets what they've been illegitimately promised, and all you have to give up is the idea that we rule the world and the idea the Big Brother should tell you what to put in your body ...

... if that sounds unreasonable you're hopeless and deserve what you've been voting for.

If you substitute the word "Democrats" for "Republicans" in the preceding quote, would anyone bat an eye? My point is that both parties accuse the other of the exact same things, and guess what? They're both right. Americans are fortunate that they get to choose who to vote for, but when those choices are between "Crap" and "Turd", aren't they just different ways of selecting the same $h!t??

Roy .. Among You Soon ... rest of you party-line hacks

Do you sheep see ME winning in here?

Concede. Your past will be forgiven when you admit R = D and stop supporting either and start respect the fact that individuals exist.

You have a very valid point. It's too bad they don't put a "None of the Above" option on the ballot and if it gets the majority vote, then we start the process all over again. I am so tired of the career politicians running things and long for the citizen legislator as the founding fathers envisioned.

OW, speaking of Roy, I'm surprised he's not on here posting all his C&P rants blaming "Fux News" etc.

As for whether we see you "winning in here", no but we do see you WHINING just like the rest of all of us posting comments.

Come on now, be real...you're not some impartial commentator. Just like them, you have your own agenda that you're running.

See ya, buddy!

They do!

Vote in local races ie school boards, bond issues, vote for those running that have nothing to do with a party ... and if your choice is between R and D, leave it blank - don't sanction either. The rest of your vote still is counted.

That's how I voted last round - I was in and out in about 40 seconds.

Wouldn't dare deny that!

Ever met a shy atheist / anarchist? Than they were a phony.

Of course I have an agenda - my own self interest. And since I've come to play in this sandbox I've seen more and more participants agreeing that the parties are identical and a destrcutive wasteful idea in the first place and fewer and fewer ardently supporting either. So when it comes to me and the party-liners ... I'm winning.

Makes me smile. Hope it makes Roy and AYS fume with rage everytime someone else posts an Orville-esque comment. Almost makes me wish OW existed.

You're disseminating misinformation: Obama's health care plan and Obama's camp claim that OBAMA's plan is based on what Romney did as governor. The only problem is that Mitt Romney's plan was approximately 77 pages long; where Obama's version is well over 2000 pages long.

That is one heck of a difference!!! Have you ever bothered to check out why it is so drastically different than what Mitt Romney's successful plan? Obama's is far for successful or affordable. A well informed person would recognize that fact too!!! Can you say pork, pork, and more pork with regard to Obama's version!

OW, I'm just keeping you in check. ;-) You & I both know that I've been making the same claim since I first began posting on these threads too. The only difference is that where you use to refrain from being insulting, as I can recall you lectured me once or twice...now we've switched roles. You're enjoying the insulting part a little too much, which I will admit makes me laugh.

Enjoy the wizzing contest with all the die-hard party hacks. ;-)

"Obama, you are the president of the USA, not Biden. Work with Republicans to bring our national debt down, otherwise you will bear the consequences."

It appears Mr. Obama is disappearing from news stories as more and more people read Dr. Corsi's excellent book, "Where's the Birth Certificate". For you staunch supporters, a copy of the book is available at any local bookstore such as Barnes and Noble. After reading it myself, I believe it's fair to say that Mr. Biden could well be our president going into the 2012 election.
