A city run MVD that close to the border sounds like a recipe for corruption.

Is this CM even qualified to hold that position or is this another political favor? My bet, is that this is a favor. Mayor Resendiz and his lapdog Salinas have ruined the city for years. Hiring unqualified people, hiring cronies and wasting taxpayer money. Glad when these morons are out of office.

Morales is definitely not qualified for the positon. He was demoted from Director of Constituent Services and put into a cushy job at the Border Authority just like the other unqualified cronies that are there. Hopefully the new governor will come in and clean house and get rid of all these overpaid, under-educated wannabes.

Smells too fishy. You are right this will be noticed nationwide on how we do business in this part of the country. It is not who you know but who you blow.

I can't believe the city doesn't go through a competitive process with candidates submitting their resumes and qualifications.

Yup-- I have met Andrew and he didn't even know how to speak fluent Spanish and yet he was appointed to head the Border Authority where you work with Mexican counterparts to facilitate projects and relationships. Really.

Moralez will earn about $95,000 per year and has a three-year contract. He said the salary and contract mirror that of Aguilera's.

This is the joke of the year,Moralez is not able to do this job. I guess being best friends with Richardson pays off well.

$95,000 a year for an unqualified person. Isn't Sunland a poor colonia near the border. WOW, PAY TO PLAY IS LIVE AND WELL.

Wow - as quoted "Moralez, a resident of Anthony, N.M., said he hadn't intended to seek the city manager job, but Sunland Park Mayor Martin Resendiz proposed the idea after the position became vacant.

"It was a really quick turnaround," Moralez said."

Sooooo. I suppose there was no hiring process? W T F!!!

He looks like little bill without the beard and only one chin. Nice... how does he feel about no-bid office supply orders?

Andrew is a fine young man that has done lots of good for the region. For those of you that question the $95,000 he is making don't be a hater.

Were not haters; we clearly see he is not qualified to run a city, just like day dreamer Avila, village idiot Lira, and puppet Diaz and of course lets not forget Mayor and Salinas we all know their story!
