I choked on my last post. What I MEANT TO SAY WAS:

As we get closer to the next elections it is bound to get pretty dirty. BOTH parties have an attitued of "If a member of MY party did it it's okay, BUT.... If a member of the OPPOSING party did it, THEY'RE calling the AP".

Here's a story you don't read every day where the reporter gives the Democratic Party leadership her pencil to write an op-ed story for the Judge Murphy defense team. It’s not surprising that the story cries of partisan politics at play and of course a newly elected Republican Governor is behind the whole thing.
What’s even better is this non-story, based on political speculation, has become a top Sunday news story. Is this the old Liberal press bias at work before your very eyes or are the reporter and her editors to stupid to know they are being played like a two dollar political fiddle by the Murphy defense team?
What is really going on here is Judge Murphy is shrewdly trying his own case in the press with a little help from his political friends. Trying a case in the press is an old defense attorney tactic and by doing this, Murphy’s attorneys can change the minds of potential jurors before they are selected for his case.
If anyone has meet or talked to Judge Murphy in person they will walk away wondering how this guy ever became a judge.
This is all just another day here in the 3rd World Banana Republic of New Mexico where the political monkeys roam wild and are up to their usual political monkey business.
This is the old let's make this political trick. It might work, but I doubt it. People in Las Cruces are not stupid and will demand justice.

The prosecution of Judge Murphy is politics and in house fighting at it worst. The in-house fighting is that other judge who is doing the accusing. She reminds me of Monica Lewinsky. When they asked Ms. Lewinsky if the president asked her to do the thing she said "no, I could tell what he wanted by the look in his eye." The other judge in the Las Cruces court can't say that J. Murphy made a bribe she can only say "I believe that's what he told me." Murphy has denied ever saying that. That other judge has it out for Murphy and that is that. Quite likely she is working with the governor's office on this one. That's what we will probably find out when all the smoke and dust settles.

Judge Shultz reported Murphy and it was not based on politics or what party he was in as they are both democrats.
I believe she did so based on her own ethics and integrity and it was the only honorable thing to do.
Judge Lisa Schultz I applaud you. I don't believe most Las Crucens know that you

It's typical that a left leaning publication like the Sun News, would go out of their way to explain this Corruption Case that may involve a DeSepticRAT Governor as another Republican Witch Hunt

Stick to the FACTS, THAT'S WHAT REAL JOURNALISM USED TO BE ABOUT. Not PROPAGANDIZING LIBERAL CUASES!Have you forgotten that?

I saw Martinezs political influence from the beginning. I still think that they just have hear-say on him, but they better get it right. We cant have bribery in the judicial system. Well see what the recordings hold

I think this report on corrupted accusations of corruption is ULTRA PERTINENT. Do you consider the possibility that he is innocent? Go watch some more Fox News, maybe THEN someone will listen to you about REAL JOURNALISM haha

Shultz shouldn't be commended in any of this! She is as guilty as everyone else. When a person waits 4 YEARS to speak up about such accusations there's something wrong! It's just interesting at how "conveniently" this all came out shortly after Martinez became Governor. Too many coincidences in this case. Think, people, think!

Whether or not politics played a part in bringing these charges does not matter. There is 1 question to be answered here. Is it illegal to pay an amount of money to get a position as a judge? If the answer is yes then the investigation should move forward. If it is no then it should end. Lots of people do lots of things that are illegal and do not get caught. However the ones that do get caught should be prosecuted.

I am so glad Murphy is out! I heard from people he was a terrible judge with alot of racism. He was rude to young teen and in particular their parents. He was detrimental and belittling. Very judgmental, no punn intended.

Moreso, Edgar Lopez was known to boast about he getting judges appointed. Gov. Richardson stating he did not take bribes may be the truth, Edgar just kept it all. Never was there such a snake as Edgar. He is always bragging how much money he has and it probably was that of people he bribed. More investigations should be done.

How can Richardson not be guilty if the very ones scum Lopez was collecting the bribe money from were also the ones getting the appointments?

Wow! A Harvard graduate? She must be moral. As psychologists would say, Judge Schultz is getting secondary gain from this. What a hero, what a celebrity--"look, everybody loves me"--no one can criticize her or risk being accused of complicity in this witch hunt.

But here is a question for the good judge: If you are (or were) so in fear of the the control that the Judicial Standards Board has over you, why did you not report them way back in 2006 or 2007 when this first concerned you? I mean, if an extra-judicial board can control your decision--a District Court Judge's decision--why did you not report them to the authorities as well? Please judge, if you cannot render decisions without fear of the Judicial Standards folks you need to resign.

No, your fear of the Judicial Standards Board so petrified you, that you allowed--Murphy, whom you claim is--an unethical judge to continue to do his work on the bench for three to five years UNCHECKED because you thought the Judicial Standards Board would get you. You have set up Judge Murphy as a straw man, the Judicial Standards Board as the bogeyman, Chief Justice Daniels as the devil, and the entire New Mexico Judiciary as corrupt. All without a shred of objective evidence. You are a disgrace.
