Alex's records, particularly those he recorded with Big Star, had a large impact on much of the original Rock music that came out of the Twin Cities in the 1980s. I ran into Alex a couple of times in New Orleans recently, he looked like a hip professor with a savoir faire demeanor. The epitome of a cool Rock n Roll guy- hats off to you, Alex, you will be missed.

He was a "soul deep" musician and vocalist.
