Ron, I am really hoping you will find a good spot in the near future to re-open.....there are too few places like yours out there!!

Good luck to you.

Sorry to hear about the closing. The dogs were the best. Good luck to ownership going forward.

But I do have to admit that, once the place moved downtown, I did not get over there very much. I just didn't want to deal with the traffic and parking hassles that are inherent to downtown Hartford, espcially during lunch time.

Yes, indeed. We were planning regular outings to the Science Center. Until we learned it was in Hartford.

Wow, what a loser you are. Shocking, and somewhat funny that you are owned by your own neurosis.

I'll second this. I loved Rosco's and patronized the Franklin Avenue location. Ron was always working the counter when I visited, always polite and friendly, and remembered me although I didn't drop in more than once a month (I live across town). One Saturday I went there and an ice cream store was opening in Rosco's location. It was months later that I found out by chance that they were relocating to downtown, but I never sought it out. It's difficult to deal with downtown parking, especially weekdays, except to run quick errands.

I wish Ron the best of luck. Downtown is hard for eateries in general -- I expect with the passing of time and a better location we'll be seeing him again. And yes, his hot dogs were truly the best, better than the old Ranch House on Main Street.

How sad for you that you couldn't even make an attempt at refuting Pilar's contention that Hartford is "lawless, dangerous, filthy, expensive, unpleasant, and undesirable."

You just keep up the brainless cheerleading. Rising star and all that, right??

If I said that water was dry, smelly, sratchy, and flammable, would you waste time refuting it? No. If the guy (and you) want to be super negative on Hartford, that is more of an indication of your frame of mind and disposition than it is useful commentary on Hartford.

I agree with you. But holy cow, do you know what you just said? You suggested the food was great. Great? People don't use words like "great" on Topix. The Topix Style Guide seems to mandata the use of words like "awful, terrible, stupid, idiotic, moronic, dumb" and lots of words that print like "**********". But you said great, and now people will judge you as clueless or nuts.

However, I agree with you. Nice post!

Especially if one suggests he doesn't subscribe to the paranoid ideation that each of Hartford's 125,000 residents and tens of thousands of daily visitors (rather than those leading certain lifestyles) is perpetually in immediate physical danger, to the point of being afraid to ever patronize cultural attractions and eateries that (overall) happen to be located in the city's safest areas.

It safer to walk in downtown Hartford than on Buckland Road or Queen Street. But these suburbanites don't walk anyway. No wonder we're the fattest country in the world, there are so many paranoid suburban zombies who won't leave their SUV.

People are responding with reasons why Hartford is in disarray, i.e.(drugs, crime, parking, location, business inactivity) but you just spit nonsense rhetoric, without sighting the positive points of Hartford. I mean, you're beginning to sound just like..... wait, wait.... Eddie, is that you? Now I get it, nice try Mayor Perez.
