Wow...people on here are brainwashed neocons. It's scary. Thank Jeebus I don't live in FL. The Republicans are the party that wrecked America. How can anyone give them another chance?

The West woman is married to a GOP operative. What a shocker!

BTW: People in Sweden are the happiest in the world. The reason they cite is b/c the government takes care of them. Whata concept!

Babs West is nothing but a pasty-faced hag doing the bidding of Limbaugh et al. Has anyone noted that her hubby Wade is a Rethuglican consultant/operative? Guess we know where the questions came from.

I don't know what is more shocking, West's interview or the idiots on here who actually believe the right-wing propoganda. The funny thing is that most of the people who vote for McCain would actually receive a tax cut and better health care over Obama.

Most of the right has one thing in common: ignorance.

By the way, anyone who things that West's interview was not biased should take a look at her interview of John McCain. Not once did she ask McCain a tough question. She could have aske him about: (1) his constant flip flops, (2) his choosing a startling inexperienced VP candidate, (3) his poor judgment in the Keating scandal, (4) his admitted lack of knowledge of the economy, (5) his disagreements with Palin, etc. Instead she fed him soft ball questions.

Never forget: National security trumps everything. The primary task of the President is to protect and defend the US and its citizens. If your country gets nuked, nothing else matters.
Those who place a higher priority on butter (luxury) over guns (defense), endanger all of us.
Just who is it that might have their priorities upside down, anyway?

2007: Bill Clinton Says Obama Isn’t Ready
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/16/us/politics...
"Former President Bill Clinton made an unusually direct attack Friday night on Senator Barack Obama ... suggesting that voters who would support someone with Mr. Obama’s experience were willing to “roll the dice” on the presidency. Appearing on “The Charlie Rose Show” on PBS, Mr. Clinton repeatedly questioned Mr. Obama’s preparedness for the White House, noting that he took office in January 2005 and became a presidential candidate about two years later.(Mr. Obama was an Illinois state senator before that.)
“When is the last time we elected a president based on one year of service in the Senate before he started running?” Mr. Clinton said. At another point, he appeared to compare Mr. Obama to a “gifted television commentator” running for president.“They’d have only one year less experience in national politics” than Mr. Obama, he said.

2008: Biden Admits: If Obama Is Elected A World Crisis is “Guaranteed”
Americans could be attacked and killed ... Students of history and those old enough to remember will recall that during John F. Kennedy’s early years in office we went to the brink of nuclear war with the Soviets after they placed missiles in Cuba capable of delivering atomic warheads to American cities in mere minutes. Who would want to repeat that?
This is what happens when you have a candidate nominated by the “cut and run” crowd. You’ll have bad guys all over the world, who President Bush has kept at bay, suddenly thinking now is their chance to go for it.
None of the bad guys would need to test McCain. They know what he would do and that fear deters them from acting.
An Obama presidency invites a dangerous uncertainty which threatens to disrupt peace and potentially cause war!

Al-Jazeera for Obama Canada Free Press ^| 10/20/08 | Cliff Kincaid http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/...
Al-Jazeera, a mouthpiece for enemies of the United States, aired a Moammar Gadhafi speech praising Obama and followed with a story depicting supporters of Sarah Palin as white racist Christians. The channel is subsidized by the oil-rich Sunni Muslim plutocracy/dictatorship in Qatar. The Al-Jazeera “reporter” who did the hit piece on Palin was Casey Kaufmann, who surfaces in Federal Election Commission (FEC) records as a $500 contributor to the Obama-for-president campaign and is based in Doha, Qatar.

It doesn't have to happen. Only reckless mentalities will be willing to "roll the dice". I believe that there are still enough sober-minded adults in America for us to be able to stop them. VOTE! Even if you don't care about yourself, vote McCain Palin for the sake of your children's and grandchildrens future.

Debunking West's (husband's) talking points:

1/ Florida's Republican Governor has stated that this ACORN thing is ridiculous. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics/flor...

2/ Spreading the wealth around is hardly Marxist. That may be a tiny bit of true Marxism, but explain to me the difference between what the Obama administration would do, and what McCain would do? McCain's administration would give taxbreaks to the affluent in order to try and stimulate job creation. Obama's campaign would reduce taxation on the middle and lower classes to stimulate consumer spending and saving.

3/ Sweden's doing pretty well, thank you. It ranks as #6 in the global Human Development Index. The US ranks #12. Not bad, but room for improvement, right? Its worth noting that the countries Americans reflexively mock, like Sweden, France, and lots of "Old Europe" are above the US in human development.

I went back and watched her earlier interview with McCain where Mrs. West implores Mr. McCain "to go after Obama." A few weeks later, she carries the water for her Republican GOP Media Consultant husband by lying about Obama being an "organizer" for ACORN and trying to claim he is a socialist. Unprofessional. Sad. Useless. There are so many adjectives we could use to describe this "journalist." She is a mouthpiece for the far right and her job was to raise these lies in order to hurt Obama in Florida. If you truly believe Obama is a terrorist, a socialist or any of the other OUTLANDISH tripe that the GOP is trying to nail to him, then you are too naive for your won good. Barbara West should be taken off of the air. And the good people of Orlando should never trust another word that falls out of her mouth.

I can't believe these comments as much as I can't believe this reporter. This woman's questions were insulting and ridiculous, she had NO COUNTER QUESTIONS or responses, the whole this was an absolute joke. Tough questions? Please. Insults, and lies is all they were and a complete waste of the Senator's time.

I didn't see anything about the West/Biden interview in the Orlando Sentinel. Oh, that's right, the Sentinel endorsed Obama. Well, I can't wait until my subscription runs out. I will get my news from Channel 9, Barbara West, in the future. And then I will continue to flip the channel when anything comes on about Obama, or record the show and fast forward. God save us!

What a poor example of journalism! Quoting Marx?? Is she trying to become the next Bill O'Reilly or something LOL? This is why some local news anchors remain local news anchors their whole lives. To her credit, she did not interpret Biden's responses, even while he made her look like a high school newspaper journalist.

Where did Ms. West get her information on ACORN? Connecting a few of ACORN's lazy and corrupt workers to Obama and then to the mortgage crisis? Obama NEVER worked as an organizer for ACORN, and he represented them as a lawyer alongside the US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE!(Which, by the way, he won an award from a non-partisan Illinois voting organization for his work!)

That was an over the top slanted interview to the right. I am surprised that anchor faced no repercussions for that sandbag.

With regards to the equally uninformed comment by Tyrannosaurus:

What a joy.
Worked real well in Iceland and Europe. Opps they went bankrupt. Seems the strongest country in the world today is the most capitalist country. "
FYI, Iceland is a part of Europe (most Americans have a very slim grasp of geography outside their own country, so I will let that pass).
However, the capitalist system of the USA is apparently NOT WORKING very well, that's why you had to have the bailout...
It is sending ripples across the world, but thankfully here in socialist Sweden, I pay taxes, enjoy statefunded healthcare and can disagree with the current administration without being labeled "unpatriotic"
Looking forward to a change in American leadership for the better and a better deal for the American people (of which my daughter is one, but not yet registered due to the Patriot Act).
glad to hear how great it is in sweden. how are you dealing with all those clamoring to live in your fair nation? its a bit of a problem over here. we can't seem to keep the rest of the world from pouring across our borders because of the opportunity we offer. i haven't yet witnessed any complaints from the newer residents about the availability of our social healthcare.

at 9 million, sweden's population, is just slightly bigger than the population of new york city. you are comparing your nation's success at administrating a social system with a nation the size of the US. this country has over 300 million documented residents. healthcare for residents needs to be left up to each individual state within the US. you cannot expect to have the same homogenous society within a federal constitutional republic such as ours compared to sweden. keep in mind what attracted our ancestors here in the first place

we also have a population of undocumented residents that by some estimates is 30 million.

the top 5% of all income earners in the US pay over 50% of all federal income taxes. the bottom 50% pay no federal income tax.

my doctor can write a prescription for me to get an mri on monday, and i can have the results by friday. just because healthcare is free doesn't mean its good.

also, the infant mortality rates are lower in europe than in the US because we calculate that figure differently. we count the still born, europe doesn't.

i support less government and more autonomy for all residents to explore the diverse lifestyles, cultures and geography of this country

Have you read the Patriot Act recently? Then read the Bill of Rights, half of the ammendments aren't solid anymore. Search and seizure would be the obvious one to go. Trail by jury would be an easy second. Cruel and unusual punishment a good number three. Really, you want just one?
As for taxes and Marxism, McCain voted *against* the current tax cuts for the wealthy, calling them "fiscally irresponsible". And, on Hardball on October 12th, in 2000, he said:
<quoted text>
So, John McCain is a marxist.
As to your previous point about Europe being bankrupt, no, sorry. The stock markets in most of Europe aren't hit nearly as hard as the US ones, and in total, across Europe, there have been exactly how many firms the size of our investment banks have gone under? Since you know it's so bad in Europe, please, tell me.
The worst bit about being an expat these days is having to explain to people around me that some Americans actually understand what Marxism implies. And that I understand that the greatest push for Marxism in American history is the bail out plan and McCains suggestion to purchase bad loans.
I suppose paying $50 a year for a university makes people around me expect people to be educated.
you and you neighbors better start cranking out the babies now. with the negative population growth experienced in norway and the rest of europe don't expect to have enough workers to tax in order to produce the revenue needed to support $50 tuition, social healthcare, social retirement benefits and all the other entitlements those who are less productive in society can milk off the dole while the productive ones pay for it.

success is all about luck. the harder i work, the luckier i get.
