I am some what of a news junkie, and I have never witnessed such partisan questions coming from a reporter on network television. I would expect that from cable, since those folks are commentators and opinion makers, and represent the slant of their audience. Network television’s role is to present the news in an impartial objective way, based on facts, not "pointed" questions based on one campaign's slant and talking points.

Here are a couple of things you might want to consider: The US is $500 billion in debt to China--not a capitalist country by a long shot. If we're so strong, why do we have to borrow so heavily from them? Also, our economy, like every other one in the world, is not a purely capitalist one. All so-called capitalist economies are in fact mixed, with some elements of "socialism." President Bush has in fact taken us down a road to socialism with the financial bailout package. John McCain, if elected, would take us further with his plan to "buy up bad mortgages."

As a resident of Central Florida, I was embarrased by Ms. West's line of attack. Her lack of knowledge was frightning for someone in such an influential position. Clearly her agenda was not to obtain information for the vewers, for whom she has a duty to present information in a fair and balanced manner.
