"Beethoven in his study"
Posted in the Beethoven Forum
Beethoven has always been my favorite composer. A few months ago I purchased very antique looking, 11.5*18 framed print of "Beethoven in his study". I am unable to find much more information than the artist and when he did it. Can anyone please help!
Check this link (and search "Beethoven in his study, to find the page):
It is by Carl Schloesser from 1885. If yours is the same as mine, it is a lithograph. Mine came in an old wood frame with a small brass plate that reads "Clef". When I got this back in 1991 an appraiser told me the value was likely the cost of doing a "real" appraisal, which was about $250.
I'm trying to get a ticket to antiques roadshow... hopefully I'll win the lottery and will find out the actual value.
