Why do those who call themselves "reviewers" insist on telling the entire story, which is available to anyone who has Internet or a library at hand; while their job would seem to be to REVIEW the actual performance which they saw. I get no concept of what «Les Miz» has to do with «Fidelio». Fortunately, this reviewer... not having "melodies to hum on the way home"... is not plagued by the night-long repetitions of the melodies of _Abscheulicher_. Perhaps if reviewers were required to have seen the opera... in several other productions... a few times before proclaiming themselves reviewers, we would have a more in-depth concept of what went right and what went wrong here.

As subscribers to both opera companies in Palm Beach and Broward Counties, we find it challenging to rate our personal reviews against those offered by the various newspapers. Most recently especially, I find your reviewer right on target, unafraid to be critical when appropriate and praising only when appropriate. I thank you for these sensitive, accurate and intelligent evaluations. Linda Effrat Zolet.
