It is outrageous that Beenie Man is touring the U.S. just a few months after taking a stage in Uganda, on December 5, 2009, and saying that he "wanted to cut the throats of all gay men."
Beenie Man has a number of songs that call for the death of or violence against (or both) of LGBT people. You can read about Beenie Man and some other of these homophobic performers and their songs in the "Dancehall Dossier" at http://tinyurl.com/2xax3b
In Beenie Man's song, "Han Up Deh," he urges that lesbians be hanged with a long rope.
When a club presents Beenie Man in the U.S., it is an insult not only to LGBT people, but also to people who oppose the promotion of hatred and violence.
