There is an ad currently running by K&G announcing suites on sale 2 for $150.

I drive up to the store, walk pass the cashier and into the section displaying racks upon racks of mens suites. As far as the eye can see, there are signs displaying "2 for $150" as advertised. it takes me a while but I eventually select two suits of my liking and size and proudly take them up to the cashier. He asks me for my zip code then rings the merchandise up and declares "$478.00".

In astonishment I ask, "aren't these 2 for $150?" to which he replies, "No, only those marked 2 for $150 with a red tag"

"but these where on a rack with a sign displayed which stated $2 for $150." Yes he replied, but those are regular price, you have to look for the red tag."

I promptly walked back to the suit racks still optimistic, only to realize that the so call 2 for $150 suites look more like they should be donated to a thrift shop.

Well for this consumer the bate and swtich did not work.

Thanks for the entertaining and informative post. I went browsing for K&G locations when I saw the ad you mention (and Womens suits at K&G for $80.00). Well, I guess I don't have to rush over there. I'll get there sometime, and judge for myself, but your creative writing style makes me think your comments are quite accurate.

Wow, great grammar and spelling guys. And if you think that is creative writing, that is really quite sad.

Its not bait and switch. You look for the suits that have the tag on them. They do 2 for 150.00.
If you did not identify the suits you should have asked for help... not just simply picked two suits.
The place sales discounted suits and clothing like what you would see in mall stores. I like K&G. While i can't afford the suits ..they sell clothing out of season cleared all the way up to $5.00 to $10.00 +..is more my speed right now.
The selection is better than a thrift store and would last longer than clothes that were gently used for freakin' years and are the latest styles as opposed to an estate sale dumped at a thrift store.
Something I have noticed is because the store operates on discount the employees get jerked around a lot by customers. Other stores that suffer from bad customers are stein mart, costco, walmart, heb foods and suit mart...all though there are others.. those that do jerk the customers around oddly enough don't get mentioned.. and i have found them to be mostly high end stores...that sell over priced suits that come apart easily..are tailored badly.. and passed off with not even a second glance..
The stores for those with expendable income below 50,000.00 seem to be the stores that put up with bad customers at the expense of their employees.
I have seen many stores go out of business because of untrue statements.. that i wonder are they made by competitors.. angry customers that didn't read the labeling or just some person having a bad day in K&G....TG&Y was a good nickel and dime and it left our region because of ill will before the previous recessions claimed all their stores...hmmm...now people wish it were back because it offered low cost merchandise cheaper than Big Lots.
Frankly i don't like how these retailers treat their workers ..and don't like how customers can come in and tread all over good employees. K&G is one of the few places that does not just hire any schmoe and does alot of training/ encouragement to keep their staff perked even after being verbally assaulted/ berated by customers that can't even find satisfaction when left to their own devices. While I agree not every customer or employee is great.. I really don't and can't believe it was bait and switch. Like every other store it says in regular size print in the adds and in the store- selected items...just like it says on clearance racks..whic items are stickered for 5 bucks and ten.
You weren't tricked.. you just ignored instructions...bet you wouldn't have done that if you could have afforded say neiman marcus or dillards...

Wow I wonder which person who posted works for the store. Did you happen to use a spell checker by any chance?

You obviously do not know what bait and switch means. Bait and switch is when a store advertises one items but it is out of stock when you get there. They then offer a different item that is supposed to be comparable but usually is not. That is bait and switch. Unless you have not shopped in a few years, common sense would have dictated to you that you should ask about the advertisement before shopping.

do you really believe there is a suit for $75 or 2for 150 then you live in china. But they have to lure you to store under any pretext to buy, a prelude! and that is a business trends all of them guilty of it, so don t feel bad .Yes I used a speller so what

i am on my way to pick up my 2 for 150 suits that i had tailored to fit. i've purchased suits before from here and had no problems. yo have to be a wise and frugal shopper and pick the best quality suits for the price. you can go to brooks brothers and spend $900 on a suit but if you dont take care of it it doesn't matter how much it costs. you have to learn how to "coordinate". with your pockets. if you got it spend it, if you dont got to K&G right now they have a Sean John suit black pinstripe for $150. looks better than anything in menswharehouse.

I go to Maryland store on a regular basis and all I buy there is slacks. I don't think thier suites are good quality. I will be aware of any bate and switch going on because of your comments. We don't tolerate that kind of business in Maryland/Virginia/DC.

I have purchased 2 suits from K&G in Marietta, GA. In fact, I'm going tomorrow for 2 more. The customer service there has been excellent. I went in for the 2 for $150, and I got 2 for $150. Obviously, there is a charge for tailoring, but it was minimal...around $20 for both, and ready the same day. The quality isn't Grade A, but well worth the price. If I had any complaint at all, it would be the buttons don't seem to be sewed on well. But, I took it back and they fixed it while I waited...no questions asked. I would certainly recommend K&G to anyone looking for nice suits at reasonable price.

If you don't know what to look for in a suit it doesn't matter where you go. You can buy a cheap suit at MACY's. Most people don't know how to examine a suit to know if it's good quality or not. Do your homework and stop complaining.

I shop at the K&G in Atlanta on a regular basis. True, some items aren't amazing quality but not all. They have name brands. You get what you pay for. I recently purchased a new tuxedo and a suit for an upcoming cruise for $150. The tuxedo was off brand, and I don't care. It's not an everday item for me. The suit was originally $400 and was a Hugo Boss. I wear suits to work and wouldn't think twice before wearing the Hugo Boss $75 special to work. The only issue I have with the store is they have 1 person working when there is a line of 15 folks. Other than that ... good to go. If you want a "good deal" go to Target. Get you a suit for $69.99 and see how long that fabulous name brand lasts. NOT. LONG.

I found some great suits in OKC under the 2 for $150. Obviously not all the best brands were 2 for $150, so have some realism.
