Doesn't anyone know about his Platinum Experience before is Las Vegas show? I purchased two tickets for my husband & myself. I was one for the 1st to purchase for 4/27/07 performance. All BMIFC will tell me is I get to meet Barry before the performance, get my photo taken with him, which he will then autogtraph, sit in the center section (same as section #2), have a 1st row seat. They say seats are assigned 1st come, 1st served, but won't tell me if the start assigning seats from the center of the aisle. I know section #2 holds 13 seats, but they say they sell 16 Platinum Packages for every Friday night performance. I don't know if the introduction to Barry is like a receiving line in a wedding, where people pass by briefly to shake his hand. I'd like to know how long I will get to speak with Barry. The tickets were very expensive on my credit card,$1250.00 each, plus $15.00 shipping. Most of the cost (minus the regular price of a seat) is tax deductable & goes to charity. I hope someone out there has purchased a similar experience, and can give me some information. Thanks, Cynthia B A, St. Pete, Fla

Ok ladies. Here's the "skinny" on the Platinum experience. You get to go into the room with Barry for about 5 minutes ALONE. They take candid shots of you and him talking and give you a camera with the shots in the when you leave. He autographs a program and they take a professional picture of the two of you. After the concert, they bring you the picture in a nice souvenier photo frame. You will be sitting in the middle section on the front row. Great seats! Great experience of a lifetime! Lucky ladies!

Go to www.barrynet.com . You have to be a member of the fan club in order to purchase the package. You should be able to find all the information you need at the fan club website. It costs $10 to join, they issue you a number, and then you can reserve your platinum package at the website.

I'm 16 years old and a huge Barry fan. I would love to meet him but $1250 is really steep - I have to save for college too. Any chance Barry would give me a discount if I write to him ?

No way he will give a discount...it is not up to Barry to charge, it is his management...Spending that money to see him is well worth it...You can see him in Philly and Boston next weekend though...At least you can see him in concert...I personally cannot wait...Join his fan club as it is THE best...Manilow rocks and is THE best entertainer in the world...

Well, you're young - and you're male - and Barry really wants YOUNGER fans and he really wants MALE fans(he's up to his eyeballs in older female fans!), so it might be worth a shot - who knows, maybe you can meet him for free!

Why not write to his management?(More info on Barry's management co. can be found at www.stilettoentertainment.com ). The worst that can happen is you'll never get a response or you'll get a "no" - but hey, at least you will have tried, right?

Good luck!

P.S. There are lots of fans - some who've been fans twice as long as you've been alive - who can't afford the price. Once upon a time I wrote to Garry (Barry's manager) and asked if I could donate a platinum to someone who really wanted to meet Barry but couldn't afford it (I've met Barry before, so it would be silly for me to buy one for myself). Garry wrote back, said it was a great idea, and then I never heard about it again. Oh well, I gave it a shot!

Why don't you just give he money to your friend so she or he can go see Barry? What were you waiting on Garry Kief for? It's up to you then to give the money to your friend so they can deposit it into their checking account and write the check to go. Looks like you wanted special attention from Barry and his management because if you were sincere, then just give the money to your friend. Sorry, but don't get your post.

You misread what I wrote.

I didn't have a specific "friend" in mind.(Most of the folks I know have either done platinum or could afford to do it if they wanted to badly enough)

I wanted to donate a platinum to a stranger who has no hope of ever meeting Barry that way because the cost is too prohibitive.

I'm sorry if I wasn't more clear in my initial post.

P.S. I really wish Barry's organization would raffle off these platinum packages (if there are any sold in the future) so that ALL fans would have a crack at having one. I like games where everybody gets to play.:-)

If your Last name is really Manilow. He will not meet you. You are the kind of fan he knows to be afaid of. Sorry to say this but it is true.Years ago a fan try see Barry. And he did not see the fan. Catherine PS if you change your name to get closer to Barry. It will not happen.

Hmmmm Catherine/Katie or whatever name you are today, maybe you should change your name to Melissa or Mandy or Angela, or any other name you can think of then you might stand a chance in the getting close to Manilow stakes - but there again, you already are a neighbour so probably don't need to worry about what you're called when you know all you have to do is fire up your barbeque and the Manilow person will be there!! I am still totally impressed that you now have a place in Plam Springs - how awesome!

Yes Katie you're right when you say he knows who to be scared of - He's absolutely terrified of you.
