Hopefully this is an exciting development.

When is his first MusicNow concert?
When is his first John Adams Festival?
When is his first Wolfgang Rihm Festival?
When is his first Elliott Carter Festival?
When is his first Luciano Berio and Luigi Nono Festival?

or will we still need to import David Robertson & The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra to hear programs of music of our time?

Now von Rhein discusses Muti's repetoire after he has been appointed? Where was the discussion on the mertis of candidates before any appointment was made? To say that Muti's Beethoven cycle was acclaimed is overstating the results no doubt. It was not bad, but certainly will not go down in history as major recordings. The fact remains that Muti's repetoire is a reservation despite the fact that he will through in a few symphonies of Beehtoven, Brahams and Schubert. A major conducting star and talent no doubt. But only time will tell. Nevertheless, I will subscribe again to the CSO.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Cancer

Take care because it's a rather downbeat day. You feel as though you have the cares of the world on your shoulders, and maybe you have. You've certainly got to cope with a lot of responsibility and duty, and there could also be delays and disappointments that need to be negotiated. Yes, it's a fairly miserable day but try to rise above it, otherwise you'll soon start to feel really wretched and sorry for yourself.
