The process of redistributing wealth is already under way, as half of all Americans do not pay income taxes. It is astounding to think that half the population is being subsidized in the richest and most prosperous country in the world. How can this situation not lead to greater conflict? The sense of entitlement, with the encouragement of the president, is growing every day. Instead of demanding a job, needy people are now demanding more monthly assistance. And, how can 50% of the population be content in their role of supporting so many others?
The fact that almost all African Americans (93%) voted for Obama along with most Hispanics (69%) and young people is telling. Ironically, these are the groups that have suffered the most during the Obama administration. Nevertheless, they support class warfare and an assault on the affluent as if the rich are the source of their unhappiness. The president plays the role of Robin Hood, steal from the rich and give to the poor. Instead, he should steal from no one and improve economic opportunities for the poor.
Back to the crossroads, if the rich ultimately pay 50%, 60%, 70% taxes and the other members of our society pay none, the country will be one step away from socialism. Merit and personal achievement will become a thing of the past. Exceptionalism will be non-existent. I suppose that if the electorate wants this to happen, it will just continue to elect more politicians like Obama.
But be forewarned, the more we give to the federal government, the more it will try to control our lives. It will happen very slowly, but our choices and personal freedoms will decrease over time.

I'll just use a scholarly paper to illustrate what the problem is with tax disparity:

1
I. Introduction
Corporate income taxes present a challenge for economists. Their incidence has seemed particularly difficult to assign and there have been persistent questions about the logic of a separate tax on corporations (e.g., McLure 1979). In recent years, the pressures of financial innovation and international tax comp etition have presented new challenges to countries seeking to maintain a corporate tax, leading to further questions about the role of this tax as a component of tax structure. Yet corporate taxes remain an integral component of national tax systems. In this paper, I review the recent evolution of U.S. corporate tax
collections, considering the factors that have contributed to the relatively small share of federal tax revenues for which they account in order to gain insight into the future of the U.S.
corporate income tax.

Figure 1 shows U.S. corporate income taxes as a share of GDP and of federal revenues for fiscal years 1962-2006. The two series track each other closely because overall revenues as a share of GDP have remained rather stable during the period, with an average
just below 20 percent. During most of the 1960s, corporate taxes accounted for more than one fifth of revenues and nearly 4 percent of GDP. But these figures fell steadily during the 1970s and early 1980s so that, by 1983, corporate taxes accounted for just 1 percent of GDP and 6 percent of federal revenue.(cont.)

http://elsa.berkeley.edu/~auerbach/AJA_CESifo...

..........

So, while that paper is from 2006, NOTHING has changed with respect to the percentage of tax revenue coming from corporations - same folks who are booking the highest profits since the 1960's. And, you, RH, are concerned about the 47% who include poor seniors, students, minimum wage workers and single mothers struggling to support children as well as the disabled in America? Why is that your focus? These folks are already working for peanuts, trying to get prepared to compete via a college degree, or they are elderly and unable to work or disabled and unable to find work.

The Democrats: Telling people what they want to hear, namely that we have a "magic debit card" and that we never need to worry about paying it off. We just spend, spend, spend. Nobody has to work or worry about their future. The government will take care of EVERYTHING for you.
Plus there's absolutely NO danger from an all-powerful government, because all those other horror shows from the last century will not be repeated. Why not, you say? Because liberals have "evolved" into a higher order of human being, and goodness & light now rules their every thought, emotion and even their id. They are incapable of being corrupt, incompetent, selfish or even below average. They hate nobody and love everyone...mostly.
The economy? Well, that's just another a kind of magic thing too. There's these people out there called "business" and they make gozillions more than they deserve. We'll just skim off their excess profits and distribute it to those we think more deserving. Those producing this wealth will have NO choice but to cooperate... or else. What's "or else"? Well, we'll leave that to your imagination, but boiling those people in oil would not be too bad considering their past sins. For although we are filled with love, compassion and benevolence, we do truly HATE those selfish business folks (as should you), because they are standing in the way of our lovely Liberal La-La Land, in which nobody need work or worry about the future, cause it's ALL guaranteed.
And all of this will happen as if by magic! NOBODY will just sit on their ass and take, as that'd be frowned on. Everyone will work as hard as they can, but the fruits of that labor will be divided equally. It'll be as if we have all become angels. Well, except for a few die-hard business types, Repubs, conservatives and TeaBaggers...they work for Satan. Not that we believe in Satan. We don't. But we can still treat those scum as if there was a Satan and they work for Him.(It's more of our liberal magical thinking.) So when you hate them, it's not real hate, it's just hating Satan, who's make-believe anyway, so your hate is too.
There... all wrapped up in one neat package. Ain't liberalism loverly?
For you - please read post #103280:

IF there is class warfare, it isn't the middle-class who started it, but it's been a very long campaign to divest the middle-class in America of their savings and security and force them down to the bottom. WHO is creating a two class society? It isn't the dems. If we need to cut and slash, let's cut and slash unfair tax credits and deductions that force the burden onto the middle-class. And, no, I do NOT want to harm the most vulnerable who are already living on the edge. If that makes me "liberal", I wear it proudly. I'd never want to become what I think some of you have become.

We are limping along, nothing more. That's because the Dems have seized the opportunity to pretend that Big Goverment will be our savior, when in reality that's what caused this problem in the first place. Adding millions of non-producing leeches to our population can ONLY drag us down. More government freebies will hurt our economy. That's because it's not possible to get something from nothing, neither in science nor in economics.
The "deficit reduction" you refer to is a joke. It's produced by using Obama's own horrible numbers and then saying "Well, lookey here, it's doesn't suck as much as it was supposed to!". That is the rationalization of a child. Our debt under Obama has been zooming towards the moon. Deficit reduction has been nothing more than a clever politician's PR con game. Our debt is what will bite us in the ass.
Obama is like a 13th century doctor who, upon seeing a sickly patient, claims that more blood letting will be the cure. Since he didn't kill the patient, he now claims that taking even more blood will result in a faster cure. Idiots believe this kind of nonsense. You're one of them.

Yes, we do. Apparently, we're unwilling to enforce them. So, we need to figure out WHAT it would take for government to regain the WILL to enforce laws related to immigration. We need CIR, but we'd better get it right this time. You can't have CIR without mandatory E-Verify as the law of the land and brutal fines on employers who hire illegals and pretend they didn't know. 1986 all over again is a huge mistake.

"The "deficit reduction" you refer to is a joke. It's produced by using Obama's own horrible numbers." The deficit reduction numbers I offered are from the Office of Budget and Management, a bipartisan group not particularly well known for their sense of humor.

If, as you claim, we are adding millions of non-producing leeches to our population, then perhaps you can explain away the other OBM statistic that there are 4.7 million more people working today than there were in 2010.

Was or is? Never mind. Really? I didn't know that the State of Hawaii had "dual statehood" status with Kenya.
I have a question for you; do you thrive in crying over spilled milk, years after it has been cleaned up? What's going to be next; you're going to challenge the POTUS' birth certificate all over again? Ok, so that was two questions.
Unless you can show proof that somehow the State of Hawaii had its statehood status revoked, and was a state of the Sovereign Nation of Kenya on the day Obama was born, and then resigned to its statehood status with the Sovereign Nation of Kenya and regained statehood with the United States on the day after Obama was born, Obama is as much of a Natural Born Citizen of the United States, as Dubya, Clinton, Reagan, and "Dick." Otherwise, if what you say is true, under Article II, Section I, Sub-paragraph 5 of the United States Constitution, he wouldn't have been found to be qualified to hold the POTUS office, even for his first term.
And you still haven't cited the case, or the Federal Statute that proves your point.
BTW, stop using legal words (like ipso facto) the meaning of which is as far from your brain as Pluto is from the Earth, "Justice." If you're purporting yourself as a law school graduate, all that is axiomatic, is that your JD is preceded by the word "Honorary," and it was issued by the Concord On-Line Law School after you paid them 4 times the amount of tuition they require. Which goes along with the fact that the only "Justice" name that fits you, is preceded by the name "Buford T."
To surmise; would you like some cheese to go with that whine?????

Let's try this one since facts are so hard for you to cope with in response:

http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm...

Treasury Department figures show that actual corporate income tax revenues fell to $132 billion in 2003, down 36 percent from $207 billion in 2000.
As a result of these low levels, corporate revenues in 2003 represented only 1.2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (the basic measure of the size of the economy), the lowest level since 1983, the year in which corporate receipts plummeted to levels last seen in the 1930s.
Corporate revenues represented only 7.4 percent of all federal tax receipts in 2003. With the exception of 1983, this represents the lowest level on record (these data go back to 1934).

TOO MANY TAX BREAKS, not enough contribution.
