We've already been hoodwinked by the government and industry when we allowed a law requiring that our cars be registered. That was a boon for big government allowing the creation of the department of motor vehicles. People who would never keep a job in the private sector because of their rudeness, arrogance and ignorance find a lifetime career as a result of the law. Of course, once they got control of that piece of private property, they are free to expand upon that control by forcing a property owner to purchase insurance thus enriching those who sell insurance. Governments are free to add additional fees based upon the value of that private property. There is really no need to register a vehicle anymore than a need to register bicycles or register a horse carriage but the government will never eliminate the law requiring license plates because the industry surrounding the law makes too much money off of it and they would never allow their representatives to take away from those laws. They will advocate adding to the law as long as they can make a buck.
That's what they are doing with gun control law. Legislating against other peoples private property. They are not against the property that they own. Just the types of guns that other people own. When enough people agree to that to pass it into law, the next group of law makers will expand upon it adding more types of guns and more paperwork rules and fees and fines. Eventually, all private citizens who own a gun will be listed in a central database and be required to purchase insurance for that right and to ensure the insurance doesn't expire, the registration will expire and more fees and taxes and photo ID's and training certificates and refresher certification and fees and taxes and fines and documentation...it's a slippery slope and a cash cow for bureaucrats and anyone in the gun control industry.
"We've already been hoodwinked by the government and industry when we allowed a law requiring that our cars be registered."

Good grief.

Unless you're trying to tell me that they made us register our cars because the intended to ban them the comparison is invalid.

I'll get back to you when you're in the mood for a more rational discussion.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Requiring Gun Insurance Will Increase Safety

Insuring guns provides a means for financially compensating victims of unjustified gun violence — not only families who have lost loved ones, but also non-fatal shooting victims and those who are assaulted with guns.

Requiring gun-owner insurance as a form of gun safety regulation is not a radical change in social policy. It is common for our society to throw the risk on the owner of a potentially harmful commodity. Motor vehicles, for example, must be registered and insured in case their use harms humans or property; and the thrill of driving a high-performance car comes with a higher insurance premium.

States often have insurance requirements for the owners of motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, exotic wild animals — even pit bulls. Owners of establishments that sell alcohol, such as restaurants and bars, are often required to carry insurance for damages caused by intoxicated patrons.

They made us register our cars so that they could charge us a fee every year that we own that car. They added requirements like licensing and insurance and personal property taxes for the same reason...Money. They didn't say that was the reason that they made the law when they were selling the law. They said the law was needed so we would be secure and safe. "It's for the Children!!! We've been registering cars and licensing drivers for more than a century but we are no more safe or secure on the highways as we were before those requirements existed.

No. They do not want to banish firearms. They want to make money off of them. They want a gun owner to register that gun, license that gun and license that owner and force that owner to show proof of insurance for each and every firearm that he owns. Even the ones that he doesn't use but can't sell because of a stupid law.

It's not about safety. It's never about safety. It's about the money that can be made year after year after year. If you believe it's not about the money, you are naive to the ways of the wicked world we live in.

A Culture of Corruption

None of these old-time folks had been caught pants-down in a corruption case. But they were all part of the same milieu; everyone who held a power position must have had to deal with these guys.

Immigration Scam Lands Official Major Jail Sentence

Fear not, compliance officers: U.S. officials convicted of taking bribes are getting lengthy sentences just like corporations are receiving big fines for giving illicit payments.

A one-time assistant chief counsel for U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement was sentenced Monday to more than 17 years in jail for taking bribes to help immigrants fill out false paperwork to remain legally in the country.

Constantine Peter Kallas, 40, was sentenced during a closed hearing in federal court in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reported. He was also ordered to pay nearly $297,000 in restitution.

I read an article online that states the .1% rise in unemployment has a little to due with cuts in gov't spending, you know... Republicans want cuts so they got the cuts but it's effecting the unemployment numbers now so on one hand you want cuts but due to those cuts you've created another problem.
The .1 percent has to do with the seasonal hires being laid-off. Just how long do you think the Federal Reserve should continue to print 85 billion dollars a month in AN ATTEMPT to stimulate the economy and lower unemployment. That is why the economy looks better. Look up QE3.

Democrats and Republicans failed the American worker

The working man pays the price, again.

We pay more because the people we elect – Democrat and Republican, congressman and senator – find it easier to ask us to pay 2 percent more rather than cut the fat from our bloated national budget.

The fault lies in the inability of our two failing political parties to seek what is best for America rather than continue this abysmal practice of highly partisan decision-making.

NY Passes Toughest Gun Ban In Nation

http://www.therightperspective.org/2013/01/16...

New York became the first state in America to respond to last month’s tragic mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut by passing the country’s strongest laws against gun ownership on Tuesday.

The state’s senate, which is controlled by a coalition of REPUBLICANS (emphasis added) and five breakaway Democrats, voted for the bill by a lopsided vote of 43 – 18 late Monday night.(cont.)

I'd have preferred to tax the wealthy more to offset the degree and extent of cuts which are taking place, and which will always hit the working class men and women in America directly in the pocketbook. Why do you think some of us insisted we start at the top where less in the way of any personal harm would be felt? It's a matter of "disposable" income and basic necessity income.
