And here is a link for the 30% or higher profits made by Big Pharma

Take for instance the massive $10.4 billion profit GSK experienced last year, or the $8 billion raised by Pfizer, which is now recognized as the world's largest pharmaceutical company following its merger with key rival Wyeth. These figures are massive by anyone's standards. As such, the pharmaceutical industry, which has largely weathered the economic crisis in comparison to other sectors, is fast being refered to as "too big to fail". This tag was last applied to the financial services industry before the recession hit and the bailout began.

Seems like they are really raking it in while Americans keep being denied health care; being dropped from their policies for daring to use it.

Thanks for the insult.
Real classy.
For the record I never defended Pat and his campaign contributions. I do not agree with that any more than I agree with the large donations certain Democrats receive from lawyers.
I was simply trying to have an educated discussion about healthcare, so that maybe we can come to the best possible solution.
You on the other hand seem to have an axe to grind and care more about being right and hurling insults.
If I confused you with Ignorant Bob who loves to blast Obama, deny global warming and bash government in general, my apologies.

Sorry to break up this liberal love-fest on how "The man" keeps everyone down.

Obama has the right idea to fix healthcare - increase the workload on doctors, and pay them less.

I have two in-laws who are physicians - for the amount of education and hard work it took both of them to finally become practicing physicians, they are way underpaid compared to other professions that are largely unregulated, like say politicians and attorney's.

Doctors are leaving the business (try to find a new family practioner, or a ob/gyn), but lets dump on them.

We are going to extend access to health care. Get over it.

No, we as a society are going to contribute, the same way we contribute for Medicare. The only shame is we wont contribute enough. The right wing notion that only the lazy lack health insurance is a mean, dumb crock, and we do not plan to let little piggies stand in the way of doing the just right and decent thing by all Americans. We had an election. You lost.
