<quoted text>It's the same argument they make when talking about welfare; that welfare roles are higher in red states. I guess they assume that if a state leans right, there must not be any Democrats there.
They try to twist anything and everything to fit their brainwashed propaganda. It must be exhausting. Seems to me it would be easier and less stressful to just open their eyes to reality, and realize they were mislead by their mentors and media outlets.

<quoted text>In 2011, Idaho and Florida where tied at number 19 in the country with 12.3 gun deaths per 100,000 people. That isn't gun murders, that is all gun deaths, including justifiable shootings and hunting accidents. Idaho is very sparsely populated with only 1.5 million people in the whole State. Missouri has 6 million Statewide, but has those pesky larger Democrat run cities. Florida, same thing, think Miami. Arkansas, Democrat run cities and lots of Blacks. Tennessee, same deal. Think Memphis, Nashville...
Most of these States have 1) Large Democrat Cities. 2) a large minority population. 3) large tourism industries that attract gang activity and thus gun murders.
Next?
That first reference to Florida should have been Missouri.

<quoted text>The pattern is staggering. A number of U.S. cities have gun homicide rates in line with the most deadly nations in the world.

If it were a country, New Orleans (with a rate 62.1 gun murders per 100,000 people) would rank second in the world.
Detroit's gun homicide rate (35.9) is just a bit less than El Salvador (39.9).
Baltimore's rate (29.7) is not too far off that of Guatemala (34.8).
Gun murder in Newark (25.4) and Miami (23.7) is comparable to Colombia (27.1).
Washington D.C.(19) has a higher rate of gun homicide than Brazil (18.1).
Atlanta's rate (17.2) is about the same as South Africa (17).
Cleveland (17.4) has a higher rate than the Dominican Republic (16.3).
Gun murder in Buffalo (16.5) is similar to Panama (16.2).
Houston's rate (12.9) is slightly higher than Ecuador's (12.7).
Gun homicide in Chicago (11.6) is similar to Guyana (11.5).
Phoenix's rate (10.6) is slightly higher than Mexico (10).
Los Angeles (9.2) is comparable to the Philippines (8.9).
Boston rate (6.2) is higher than Nicaragua (5.9).
New York, where gun murders have declined to just four per 100,000, is still higher than Argentina (3).
Even the cities with the lowest homicide rates by American standards, like San Jose and Austin, compare to Albania and Cambodia respectively.

I would like to point out that Atlanta's gun murder rate of 17.2 per 100000 towers over Kennesaw's rate of 0 per 100000. Interestingly, Kennesaw is a suburb of Atlanta. The difference? Gun ownership by heads of household is mandatory in Kennesaw. There was a 74% drop in violent crime the first year the law was implemented.

<quoted text> WOW it looks like the cities with the most blacks match the cities with the highest murders. Why would the minority group commit the majority of crime?
It is??? Wow, I didn't even notice that. LOL!

Of course they do. But unfortunately for me, I live in the Cleveland area where we have a ton of shootings.

Cleveland is basically divided up into two sections: the east side and the west side. The east side is almost all black while the west side is a mix of white, Hispanic and some blacks. Most of the shootings that take place are on the east side and that goes along with firearm deaths as well.

But guess what? Cleveland is in the red state of Ohio. It's run entirely by Republican leadership and slowly, conservative leadership as well. Now Akron is getting almost as bad as Cleveland, and of course, Akron is in Ohio too.

So now that we have all these shootings in Cleveland and Akron, and the fact we have some of the most liberal laws for gun owners and CCW permit holders, it's the liberal position that lenient gun laws and an armed society doesn't work. That's why I presented the list of cities (mostly run by Democrats) to show that it's less the leadership of the state and more to do with the city and yes, the black population therein.

Again, Louisiana has several large Democrat run cities, and the second largest population of Blacks of any state in the country.
What do New Orleans, Chicago, Baton Rouge, Detroit, New York City... Have in common? They are large Democrat run cities with gangs. And what a shocker, very high gun murder rates.
Who are those gangs in Wyoming? The Cowboy Crips? Bull Ridin' Bloods?

Yes, but for one, they are extremely expensive, and two, you have to get them through the federal government.

Sounds like an attempt to Deter. Get what thru Gov? I already have at least one, I guess that may be on the NO list. Taurus, 9MM with 13 RD clip and 1 in chamber. Keep only 7 in Mag, I suppose. Hope Obama doesn't come to get it. ;-)

He will if he honors Feinstein's bill. Her recommendation is that citizens only have revolvers for handguns.

Where did I say anything about gangs in Wyoming? Do you feel good about yourself, when you look in the mirror, knowing you have to put words in people's mouths in order to debate them?
You are looking at gun deaths per 100,000 people. Not Gun murders. Gun deaths include hunting accidents, suicides, and justifiable shootings.
Even with all of those included, since the total population of Wyoming is only 575,000 people, that 18 gun deaths per 100,000 people equals less than 105 per year in the whole State.

Any other facts you want to try twisting to suit your needs?

So you think a Taurus 9mm is an automatic "assault weapon"?
