<quoted text>"Legal Weapons", and therin lies the problem these gun nut choose these weapons for their effectivness in killing as many people as quickly as possible before they are stopped or stop themselves.
I focus on these assult type weapons due to simple fact they are used for one thing, to hunt people. In most cases they are chosen to kill children.
Also I focus on these weapons because your examples primary uses are in other areas baseball, manual labor, etc. With your examples the killer would have been stopped before he killed 26 people and himself. They would be much harder to regulate than one weapon whos primary purpose is to kill.
I have bad news for you: all firearms are designed to kill. It seems you are more upset that the kooks have a choice than you are what they do with the weapon they bring to schools.

This is why I have doubts when people like yourself claim they own firearms. If you did own firearms, you would realize that a semi-automatic 9mm could have killed those 26 people just as easily as any assault weapon. It only takes less than two seconds to drop a clip and insert another one.

<quoted text>I disagree to a point, the weapon mass gun nuts school shooters choose is an assult type weapon with extended magazines { military typr weapons designed to kill as many as possible in the shortest time, wiapons that are not for huinting or target practice but to hunt children} with less of these weapons on the street the better the chance it will save lives.
"If you're in a hole and are attempting to escape you do not dig the hole deeper".
What will save lives are trained armed security in these schools. At the very least, let the janitor or teachers come to school armed if they so desire.

Why in the hell would you do that?
Although that era of KKK hate was a shame on America, there are many who collect and pay big money for klan collectibles. I once found 25 female robes in a funeral attic never worn, along with swords, and literature, big bucks.

There are even Americans of color who buy, sell, and collect these items.

America's history in enterlaced with good and bad, but is our history. I have never agreed with what the KKK stands for and never will, but will I make money off of that organization? Yes.

I will never let that organization benefit from my sells.

I have no opposition to trained armed personnel in schools, because out nation has become a nation of gun hate and murder.

I assure you though some {teacher and janitors} cannot and will not carry guns in a school situation.

You do not have bad news for me I have always realized guns are for killing, but only a few are designed to kill huamns and should have controls.

I could care less if you doubt if I own firearms.

In your "two seconds theory" a pencil can be driven into a eye socket or a knife thrust just below the ear. Or steady careful aim can put a slug in that gun nut.

First bring some proof to the table that they will end school shootings. Then we can have that debate. But the truth of the matter is all these gun restrictions offered so far will not stop one school shooting. Just because you make something illegal doesn't mean people won't be able to get their hands on it. How long have recreational narcotics been illegal in this country? Yet, we have the highest percentage of our population locked up behind bars because of drug usage.
Here's one for you if the mother of the gun nut would have not been able to purchase the military type weapons, 26 individuals, the gun nut mother, and the gun nut shooter would most likely still been alive.

Perhaps.

When CCW's were first introduced in Ohio, I had a debate with somebody who was against them stating obvious reasons. I told him (her) that I would like to see the law passed. My elderly mother never had a drivers license in her life, and likes to walk to the store, church and so on.

So he asked me that if the CCW law went through, would my elderly mother carry a firearm when she takes her walks? To that I replied "No she wouldn't. But the criminal doesn't know that."

The guy who committed the Hook shootings was a kook, but he wasn't stupid. In fact, I read where he took college courses at night while he was in high school. He wasn't stupid.

Now if it was known that faculty in the Sandy Hook school were permitted to be armed, do you suppose that kook would have carried out his terrorism there, or would he have chose a school where they had a strict no-gun policy?

You don't necessarily have to be armed in order to bring uncertainty to criminals. The very idea that the shooter may be met with equal or greater force is discouraging enough for them to choose another target.

Reagan did that and not the Democrat Congress? I wonder how he got away with that?
The way I remember it, Geraldo had his own television show in the 70's. He did a show on mental institutions and how awful the living conditions were as well as how the residents were treated. That wasn't his only issue. His main issue was that many of these people were committed by the courts. Committed and courts are two words you seldom hear together these days. He called those institutions crime-less prisons, and government had no right to lock them up.
He had overwhelming support from his audience, so they had to unlock the doors and allow those who wanted to leave to be free. So it's less about having institution to keep these people than it is a possible challenge of their Constitutional rights.
So are you saying those mentally ill people were actually better on the street with no control than being instutionalized in poor conditions?

That's an assumption. But figures show that violent crime reduced with the increase of more lenient gun laws for law biding citizens and the drastic increase of CCW's in the country. I would say that's a more reliable gauge.

1) Prove it.
2) Are you implying that the way a gun "looks" makes people commit mass shootings?
3) Are you implying that anyone who chooses the purchase of a firearm of a particular style is a "nut" and is only a 'hearing-voices' step away from killing a bunch of kids?
Most of these gun nut mass shooters are known as gamers {violent games involving guns and counting points for "killing as many as quickly as possible"}

2} Yes, I refer to it as Rambo Mentality.

3} No, just those who go on to use those weapons for mass killings.

You really think so?

This kid had no criminal or violent history in his life. The idea that his mother was thinking about having him institutionalized likely set him off. But your theory is that if his mother didn't have weapons in the house, his rage would have simmered and he would have forgotten about the whole damn thing?

The worst attack on a school with the most deaths was not Sandy Hook. It was back in the 30's where a disgruntled politician used dynamite to kill his subjects.

The point is so-called assault weapons just look like bad guns. Other guns do the same thing as those that were restricted when we actually had an assault weapons ban in this country. The reason it was never renewed is because there was no evidence whatsoever that the ban did any good.

Unless somebody is within a seconds range of a shooter, nobody is going to stab him in the eye with a pencil while the shooter changes clips. Most people run in the opposite direction when somebody is shooting at them.

Practice makes perfect too. Check out this video of a man shooting twice at his target. Each magazine has only one round. He changes clips in a fraction of a second.

Well, I disagree with you. Despite supposedly having the freedom of speech, try saying a derogatory racial term. In fact, type one in your response to me. I bet you can't get it to be posted. Do you need to use the term? No. Do you have the right to? Supposedly. Just like the need vs. right to an AR15. Something you apparently have a problem with. Apparently someone made you King, and gave you the authority to decide what US Citizens do and do not need.
That "gun nut mentality" is backed by facts and statistics. I've posted them. You obviously value your opinion more than government published facts.
Not "king" and what "authority", just freedom of expression. It's my right to have an opinion. That opinion is, gun nuts {people who use militatry type weapons to use in mass shootings} I have never insinuated that any legal "sane" gun owner is a gun nut.

Where id you post "gun nut mentality is backed by facts and satistics"?

Do not use youtube to try and prove an agernda.

Many victims of gun nuts are within striking range.

Sure other guns can do the same damage as military type weapons but gun nuts do not choose these other weapons to use in mass school shootings.
