Make Obama decide how to deal with sequester

The sequester solution

Barack Obama wants to blame Republicans for the looming across-the-board spending cuts that will take effect this week.

The problem with the sequester is not the amount of cuts it requires. Cuts of $85 billion this year is about 2 percent of our $3.5 trillion federal budget, or about nine days of federal spending. Even after the sequester, we will still spend about $15 billion more this year than we did in last year. The sequester does not actually “cut” spending — it simply slows its growth.

No he did not. Even though he closed bases here in the US, bases overseas expanded and new ones opened. It was a shell game. Move the pebble under the shell, where it stops, nobody knows.
I am aware that it was a shell game- like most things when the politicians say they are taking action. I was talking about the fact that Clinton oversaw what was hailed as "reaping the post cold war benefits" by closing "unnecessary" bases. It was going to be "non-partisan". Buit really it was like you said a shell game- which is why I said Clinton failed to solve the problem.

<quoted text>A start would be to UNelect any representative that had been in office more than 2 or 3 terms. Senators 2 terms. Wouldn't matter which party. Defeat the incumbents in the primary and run some fresh blood, with new ideas and NO sense of office entitlement. Most long term incumbents are ideologs anyway so they would be of small loss to the US.
Voting smarter, being informed about the candidates and their records and not just pulling a lever for a semi-familiar name. That would make a big difference in government.
No, it wouldn't make any difference. People would just pull the lever for the D or the R just like they always have.

Look at states with term limits. It make no difference whatsoever.

<quoted text>Why does Illinois have the only Navy basic training base in the US after closing the other two- one in California (where it could have been kept right by the Marine Training base and saved money) and one Florida- both at least near the oceans. It is called politics and both parties play it. The biggest round of base closings came during the Clinton presidency and he didn't solve those problems.
Except that is is a total pattern.

Illinois is supporting anbout SEVEN WELFARE-QUEEN Red states.

They try and deny it, but they are smeared with FEDERAL WELFARE. They SWIM in it.

Congressional chairs are awarded to the majority party, those with the most seniority in the party.
Federal spending is controlled by those committee heads, and they stay in office the longest in the south and west, and funnel all the federal welfare dollars to their districts.

Are you saying one side is better than the other- both major political parties play the game and it is called screw the little guy.
