We have a semi neocon leadership of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with Menendez and Corker, and in some key committees in the House also. Peter King though sane on political tactics and some domestic issues, seems to be a hardliner and a security hawk. Too bad there is not a significant moderate view being expressed, especially on the Hill. Of all the nasties, Netanyahu and the Saudi leadership make one almost feel charitable toward the new leader of Iran, who at least seems to be trying - for whatever reason - to work something out.

The new leader is playing a slight of hand game. You're right. He's trying; to stall for time. Looks like he's nailed at least one sucker. The Israelis are not playing that game.

By sleight of hand, are you suggesting misdirection as his strategy? Is it only your suspicion or do you have information pointing in that direction?

Just look at North Korea. They were suspicious for a very long time. Once bitten twice shy, Baby.

I find your suspicion fairly compelling, but by no means convincing.“Just look at North Korea” backed by a clichéd jingle document your thought process leading to your suspicion, but not the suspicion itself. However, you may be right.

Rohwani was the person who led the nuclear talks years ago and bragged at the fact that he tricked the world and carried on with Irans Nuclear intentions.

The Iranians have given nothing up, nor accepted to give anything up. The deal they agreed to would have given them everything they wanted including saving their economy and continuing the Nuclear Weapons agenda.

Thank you for the information about Rohwani’s background. I was not aware that he has a history of deception.

You described the Iranians’ behavior as being like that of our Republican Party — a patten that’s neither attractive, responsible nor realistic. Perhaps the current Iranian regime too is on its desperate last leg. The problem is that desperation causes people to behave dangerously. Fundamentalists of any religion tend to be scary crazy.

My gut reaction to Rohwani and the Iranians is not to trust them.

"The Zionist regime is a wound inflicted for years on the body of the Muslim world that must be cleansed," Spoken by him at the annual Al-Quds death to Israel rally according to Iranian Media.

Although "Death to America" seems to be the Iranians most used line.

He is an extremist who denies the holocaust, calls for the destruction of Israel, supports terror groups including Hizballah and has been behind the scenes in Iran for decades.

Some though say that the leader is just a figurehead so its more about Khomeini.

With Iran involvement in trying to overthrow numerous governments, support for terrorism on a number of continents not to mention Hizballah, Syira, Islamic Jihad and Hamas; how can they be trusted. Especially with their 12th Imam beliefs.
