Let the union pay for it. Let's use their money for a change.

Companies that are open Monday-Friday don't even open their Saturday mail until Monday.

Seems just fine to deliver mail five days a week.

Most bill payment places PICK UP their mail AT the Post Office P.O. Box.

Waste of money & effort to force the Post Office to keep Saturday delivery.

I think if they restucture their payroll, it will all work. You have postmasters in three room post offices making 150 thousand a year.

The PO is not different from any other place of business. If they do not have the work to keep them busy - lay them off. If they do not have the money to pay them - do like the rest of America has had to do - make them take one day furlough and don't come back with the crap that the world will fall apart.

Most places of business have at least one employee (from many employees) that calls off from work every day of the week.

If Congress would also put a stop to the
Postal Service having to pay 75 year's advance
into the retirement system, and do it in 10 years,
the USPS might just be able to balance the books.

But no, the Repubs need a whipping boy and
your letter carrier is just the ticket.

Repubs, such filth.

Stupid, the Postal Service doesn't get appropriations from Congress. i.e, they're not operating with tax money.

How much more don't you know about American Government......? ROFLMAO

Congress long restricted the Post Office from competing in the parcel delivery business on equal terms as UPS and Fed Ex. This is just one example of the Republicans purposely trying to destroy the Institutions that make America great.

The Republicans intentions are to drive every Federal Agency out of the business of serving the public need.

There can be no better example of the republican crusade since 1972 to collapse the U.S Government than what has happened to the Post Office and the Post Office doesn't get Congressional Appropriations to function.

The Post Office is very different in that Congress prohibited the Post Office from competing against other parcel delivery services. The Post office adds nothing to the nation's debt and gets no funding for operations or any thing else from congress.

They are federal workers, but they aren't paid or compensated in any manner out of the revenues collected by the Treasury, thus furloughs and sequester doesn't apply to postal employees.

If you're a natural born America how is it you don't know much about your Government? You're here posting daily on politics, where's your information coming from ? Fox News or one of the propaganda conservative web sites?

For you Republicans to be concerned about jobs in America you sure are giddy about the potential for folks in the middle class to loose jobs.....you're promoting and championing laying off Postal Workers, why?

You earn minimum wage, and therefore you want Postal Workers to earn Minimum Wage..... jealousy!.

Why would you pay postal workers less than the supervisors at United Parcel Service or Fed Ex?

The postal service delivers Fex Ex and United Parcel Service deliveries where those operations will not. The Postal Service pay-roll has no impact on Federal Revenues they are a self sustaining agency, and receive no tax money.

Some of these morons are so ignorant about America and our policies despite they are long standing and the information available to the public that I question their American Citizenship.

The other option is their dissent with Obama has nothing to do with politics as they don't know a damn thing about how the Government works or the policies their party champions in congress.

They are for the post office laying off or firing people, yet the postal funding doesn't come from the federal government. Equally to the man the idiot oppose Foreign Aid, and it's been the Republican Presidents who has arranged the financial aid America pays those countries they despise receiving American Aid.

It's impossible to be so uninformed politically and yet, so moved to demonstrate dissent against Obama.

These are people loosing a grip on life, reality and the populace in America.

But Eric, if the morons were to study policy, wouldn't that endanger their standing in the GOP?

House passes GOP budget plan promising deep cuts
House Republicans have passed a budget plan that would bring the federal government's finances into balance in 10 years by sharply cutting safety-net programs for the poor and by clamping down...

Now will Harry Reid and Obama do their job..........tick tock tick tock

Right. Drive the government out of business.
What then?

A country of 310 million citizens without a
functioning government.

A moronic teabagger's dream and a nightmare for the
average citizen.

What do we end up with?
A Libertarian dystopia?

God, those people are ignorant. Pure filth!
