I guess it depends on what BJ's true intentions were. I hear he visits his hometown fairly often, especially since he has a home in Colts Neck. When Katrina hit, several celebs went there to help; the media always follows and plays it up.

I think it's sad that people attack celebs for charity work. At least they are doing something! Who cares if they are doing it for the publicity? If people are being helped that should be all that matters.

Totally agree. No matter if they get more publicity when making charity work, at least the ones in need get something at the end. The ones who criticize very often do not do any thing at all ....

He did not forget his home town. I used to hang out in his neighborhood at the 24 hour store on Washington rd. Across from the elementary school. Used to drink at buddy bar on Johnson Lane. Hung out with Billy, Mike, Bonnie Sue, Willy and his sister Maryann pino. Drank at the old Mike's 3 xxx.the old wild bar on journey mill rd. New the twins Debbie and Karen wojick. Back in the day. The 1970's. Yes I'm still alive and well. Pushing 61 this Sunday the 10th. Still looking good. Now in wisstha, mass latter Dude.
