Agree. The increasing tax penalty for not having health insurance is only the beginning. Obama actually wants America to go over the fiscal cliff - Just so long as he can blame the GOP for it.

I'm basically a Social Democrat, of the European variety. I believe in redistributing wealth, a single-payer national healthcare policy, a strong social safety net, and reducing wasteful "defense" spending in favor of spending on infrastructure and recovery - on jobs, IOW.
If that makes me a socialist, I am one. I'm sure not a Teabagger, though, and they sure don't believe the same things I do. Not EVEN close...:)
I agree with you that we should have single-payer national health care and we should cut our gigantic military spending. We can't afford it, and no country needs to spend as much as we spend on military, and we keep trying to police the world when we are broke. It doesn't make sense. I agree we have to rebuild our infrastructure and should be using money for constructive things getting done here rather than spending money trying to police the world.

I thought you were another tea party nut saying they want their big social monies and government health care (social security and Medicare), and then then always say they hate socialism and that Obama is an evil socialist, but they are ONLY fighting for them to get SS and Medicare. In reality, the tea party is old people who live off of European socialism, and they don't even understand what they are doing nor what they are saying, so I keep trying to get them to see that if they live off of the government and are on government health care that they are on socialism.

It's like they live on European style socialism but they keep saying they hate socialism. They are not shooting on all eight.

To Christians and those with at least some common sense fiber on all sides. History will tell you to eliminate or defuse men and women who are insane in their beliefs in that others will dies for them. We will die for them. There are many on these forums. They know no better. And they are sad thinking there is an endless amount of resources. They are in control now. And have been for decades. Do not get caught short with any wealth you have left. Do something with it one way or another. Think of your physical status with these thoughts. You want to survive if you can until some semblance of normalcy returns after an economic collapse occurs until order is restored. Use sense. Compare working and providing for a work week and paying someone else who never will! A half century now..

Actually, if you want to get technical; England is a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarch.
Actually, no, the UK is a monarchy.

Not a democracy.

Some might insist that the UK is a "constitutional" monarchy- but the UK has no constitution, and it is a monarchy, and (be definition) it is NOT a democracy.

Do let me know when you hear the have an election for king or queen.

Actually, why don't you quit worrying about what the f*ck the rest of us are doing and switch threads if you don't like what's going on here. Politically, I think you and I agree; but don't piss me off by trying to be condescending with me.

Parliament is elected. Therefore it is a "parliamentary democracy". The monarchy is constitutional, but has no actual power and is not elected. I've known this since about third grade.

Less than half of the UK Parliament is elected; more are appointed.

The PM is appointed by the monarch.

And Parliament can be dismissed by the monarchy.

Who is... the head of state.

There is no constitution in the UK.

The head of state is Queen Elizabeth.

She holds the power (and only the monarch has the power) to dismiss for whatever reason she pleases the Parliament.

You have been ignorant since the third grade.

If you are going to pretend to be British, spoogebreath, you should learn something about the UK government.

Putting aside: more than half of the Parliament is appointed by the monarch, no election.
