Obama (Obomination)had to associate himself with a "Christian" church in order to get votes. If he had openly pronounced his Muslim-mindedness, he'd never have won election... even in Illinois! Farrakhan is not only racist, he is even a supporter of slavery in the Sudan and other parts of Africa where it still exists today. It's okay to be a slave owner if one is a good Muslim. He can't blame this one on whites or Jews. I still am uncertain for whom I'll vote, but it certainly won't be for a Muslim in sheep's clothing.

right on Bulldozer, Obama has done nothing for the State of Illinois. The first day he was elected, he started pushing his book on everyone and campaign for President. This guy (Barack) has been absent from government and couldn't have been getting the City of Chicago Federal Funds ear-marked for Public Transportation. Instead the the guy was absent from the table and Illinois got "Zero" dollars from the Feds to support the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) and our taxes were raised across Cook County to pay for a $ 400M / year budget increase. Barack will say anything and is using "Preacher" tactics to hypnotize the sheep that follow him to get elected. Well, why isn't the media talking about Barack's connection to a church that would give Farrakhan an award. He is an anti-semite, and thinks White folks are "the devil". Well, I'm White, and I think I will NEVER vote for someone who has any connection to this hate filled freak! I keep asking myself, why isn't the National Media talking about this connection? I bet the Republicans have their strategy to destroy Barack's chances at the presidency, which would focus on this issue, waiting for their chance to attack. This is just another tactic to sway people away from a someone who is for the American people--Republicans have always used the FEAR TACTIC on the American people. Well guess what? I hope it does not work this time. Your strategy is dividing people, not bringing them together. Also, why is there a video on the net showing our own government is responsible for 9/11? Also, you talk about the Nation of Islam like it is someting foreign when there are people right here in America who are kind and loving and are in the Nation of Islam. I know people right here in the USA who will give the shirt off their back for a Christian. So what's the point? I know people who were Christian and "converted" to the Nation of Islam, and people who were of Nation of Islam who converted to Christianity. Then there are people who simply do not believe in God at all and are straight out athiest. It is these persons we should really worry about. Do you know why? Because they have nothing to stop them from hating their fellow American. However it is aacceptable because here in America, you can choose whatever religion (or not religion) you so deem to serve. Jews don't bother me, people of the Nation of Islam don't bother me, but people who spread ignorance like this to place fear in people's heart because they will do anything to win a Republican vote- now I find THAT a bit bothersome.

Renee from Saint Paul, I hope Obama does have connections to Farrakhan because I think if Farrakhan has any followers Obama can serve as a role model for them on how to live a democratic life loving people and not having hatred in their heart. That is the message Obama sends, and that' why people all over America are voting for him. Farrakhan thought he was doing the right thing and some people latched on to him because they did not have a good role model in their life and they were looking for someone to guide them on "how to be a man". Now, it's time for them to see that they have been misled, and Obama seems just the person that may be able to do thatthat, if he is even willing to try. He would not stand a chance though if everytime he get's near one he is seen in a negative light for it. If he cannot do it, who else is willing take the chance? Obama has bigger things on his mind, and has constantly Demonstrated he is very interested in our "international state of affairs" something our government has somehow managed to put us in a very bad light...even Americans abroad are saying so and THEY are voting for Obama because they realize the importance of diplomacy, something we have been lacking alot of lately. Now we are in a recession, the dollar is falling, our inflation is ridiculous, our international relations are in pretty bad shape. They need to be fixed, this is a reality else we'll have more to worry about than what Farrakhan said years ago, we'll be worried about where our allies are still our allies and would they stand by us if attacked. Obama is reaching out to our allies AND our enemies. I am curious as to how all of this will turn out. I think it will make our allies stronger and our enemies weaker.

What comes through clearly when I read posts such as "Renee St Paul" is racism, narrowmindedness, ignorance, and an inability to think for oneself. The reason that Senator Obama is attracting intellectuals, I believe, is that you are less likely to encounter these characteristics when people get a broader view of the world, think more globally, learn to conduct research (a crucial part of the college education process), read information from the sources themselves instead of FNN or the like and when people think for themselves. I think racism, narrowmindedness, ignorance, and the inaility to think for oneself is exactly what many Republicans and the Conservatives want because that means you'll follow the herd...you know like when a herd of cows or buffalos are running...mostly they're running because of the herd, following everyone else. I believe this is the phenomenon (sp) which got President Bush re-elected, by the way. Also, I agree with the post by "unknown"! Research Minister Louis Farrakhan on your own WITH AN OPEN MIND...he might not represent what you believe but I don't believe he is slinging out vile racist rhetoric towards whites or people of the Judaic religion...some whites don't like to hear the truth...a lot of what I researched (and, I only scratched the surface) centers around the slavery issue was a scurrilous time in our American history of which I'm ashamed of as an American, which was perpetrated by whites, both American and European which would include those of the Jewish faith.
