Obama's gun measures face a tough road in Congress

Full story: Cedartown Standard Plus

President Barack Obama's sweeping gun-control package faces an uncertain future on Capitol Hill, where majority House Republicans are rejecting his proposals while the president's allies in the Democratic-controlled Senate are stopping well short of pledging immediate action.

Now Obama is saying the NRA is using his kids - the NRA is NOT using his kids they are telling the truth about his kids being protected with guns and the rest of the kids are NOT. NRA believes all kids should be treated equal and they need guards in schools. This is some more of Obamas shit - he has wanted to do away with guns for a long time - and now he believes he can gain more power if he takes all guns away. Hitler did the same thing but the American people will not. Obama, himself said, when the middle class get scared they grab their BIBLES AND GUNS. What he left out is we will not give up either one. It does not appear that he has enough of the Dems to support his gun control bills and we all know the House will not vote for it.

I agree. He has also used his own kids for advisers.

That's cause this topic is about guns and KIDS. Kids that were blown away with guns. Did you forget that already? Putting kids up there is a reminder or what happened.. Are you trying to sweep this situation under the rug already?

They keep forgetting about the common factor in each and every mass shooting in the United States, those pulling the trigger all had recognized mental illnesses but were not under supervision. We don't have problems with criminals committing mass killings like Mexico or many other countries where only the government and criminals have guns. It is not a coincidence that in those countries most of the government officials are also criminals.

This topic is about Obama's firearms "control" plan. Putting kids up there was not necessary. His plan is not necessary and will not prevent the same tragedy from happening again, and was nothing more than another photo op. The laws just passed in New York won't prevent anything like this either.

The more rights and freedoms that are taken away from law abiding citizens, the weaker our nation becomes, and that is exactly what the bad element wants.

Perhaps criminal element or terrorists would have been a better choice of words?

I think if I were in congress I would think twice about defying the Constitution as well. Regardless of party affiliation.
Not to mention, even the Democrats realize they have to run for reelection after their vote. Which this time will be under a microscope.

Yeah, but he's done some Constitution violating himself. He simply doesn't care, especially after getting reelected. The reason he left some to Congress is shared culpability.

"Shall not be infringed" is pretty powerful wording that is crystal clear.

Infringed:
Verb
Actively break the terms of (a law, agreement, etc.): "infringe a copyright".
Act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on: "infringe on his privacy".

What was that you were spewing?

BS he put those kids up there for ATTENTION and hoping more of his Dems will vote this in for him. Obama is not smart enough to attack the problem - THE PROBLEM IS WITH MENTAL PATIENTS HAVE ACCESS TO GUNS. Tell me when was the last time you seen a gun jump up from a table, all by itself, and shoot some one. GUNS DO NOT KILL - PEOPLE KILL.

Using your logic - the next to go will be cars - there are more deaths from cars than guns.

I agree and since Obama is so fired up on guns - why is he not finding out about FAST AND FURIOUS and how many of our border guards have been murdered by the guns he sent there.

HE HAS DOUBLE STANDARDS
