Actually trains are cheaper, especially in terms of fuel costs. The ONLY place trucks should be used are in moving freight from rail heads to warehouses or retail points-of-sale. We need to spend some stimulus money ramping up the railroad system, as well as increasing light rail to take cars and trucks off the road.
Let's try this again: Companies move their freight the cheapest way possible. Get that yet????

We don't need government providing alternative means of transportation. That's what the private sector is for, and the private sector would never invest the billions it would take to get trucks off of the road because it would not be profitable. It would be a losing investment like all the other projects government gets it's hands on.

Nonsense. Firstly, you don't know what "socialism" is, and secondly, nothing Progressives are doing is different than what American politicians have done for decades.
The Founders died a long time ago, and their nation was highly imperfect. It permitted slavery, slaughtered Native Americans, denied women the vote, put poor people in prison...one could go on and on. We improve it as we go, which is what they HOPED we'd do. And that's exactly what Conservatves hate - IMPROVEMENT.
I do agree that Paul had his name on some unsavory things, although I think the guy takes some interesting approaches to some problems. He sees the problem we have with the military-industrial complex better than most other Republicans, for example.
Oh yes, progressives have done such great jobs. That's why we now spend the most money per student in our schools compared to the rest of the industrialized world yet have only mediocre results to show for it. It's why we have metal detectors in our schools as well. It's why our jobs are now in China instead of the US. It's why half of the people in this country are supported either partially or entirely by government.

Progressivism is mostly responsible for our debt and deficit we run every year. Our nation survived hundreds of years the way the founders set it up, but progressives have been around 30 years or so, and they are about to bring the country down.

Apparently "lower fuel costs by rail" eluded you, since "lower fuel costs" generally equates to "cheaper," dunnit? It doesn't matter whether government or private enterprise runs the railways, they're a cheaper, more effective way to move freight long distances.

Your right-wing hatred of governemtn is simply illogical, rooted in an outdated ideology instead of fact. Things don't have to make money to work, capitalist.

Complete idiocy, unrelated to anything factual. Dismissed.

Professor, why don't you grab Piers Morgan by the hand and the two of you can help each other find your way back to your own country.

Why don't you try presenting an argument that makes sense, instead of blathering nonsense?
