Great News! If we demand that thousands of these Govt jobs be PRIVATIZED we can save our children from being buried in the upcoming Govt Worker Pension Tsunami.

My dad works for the government and works long hours and sometimes on the weekends. Federal employees in lower classes suffer just as everyone else. It's the higher ones that should get a pay freeze not a lower one.

A modest proposal.
House votes to extend pay freeze for federal workers
The House voted Friday to extend a pay freeze for federal workers, already in effect for more than two years, for another nine months.
So much for Obama thinking he could give all his buds and Czars pay raises.

Interesting, then you don't have a tax liability to begin with. Why are you complaining?

if you can't afford what you're purchasing, you aren't purchasing anything that adds value to you or your estate. That's an indication you don't even earn enough to be taxed to begin with. What are you whining about it can't be taxes?

When will Obama back up his claims that spending more saves money. Is he really that stupid? I know rhetorical question.
I don't know what world Obama lives in, but when I spend more I notice that I have less money.
Mr Obama, If you have 4 apples, and give 4 to someone else, how many apples do you have?

Where within any civilized society has this proposal shown itself to be a benefit to balancing a budget of that society and putting their fiscal house in order?

This is a half baked scheme proposed in small republican circles. It's all theory being there has not been a Republican in the 234 years of America that has lent a hand at balancing the American budget. This is ideally a scheme to further erode financial security in America to justify a dismantling of the New Deal and Great Society programs

This is a strategy currently being undertaken by the British and Countries in the Euro Zone. How is this strategy working for them? The British are experiencing a third recession since the Bush 2007 World Depression, some countries in the Euro-zone are experiencing upwards of 25% unemployment.

50% spending cuts of/on everything.
25% percent flat tax, only on comsumption.
In 5 years, we would have our fiscal house in order.
It is that simple.
Too bad Communist in Chief will do the opposite.

BLS government data on the increase in the number of employed individuals.

Reagan: Jan 81 to Dec 88, 16.3 million
Clinton: Jan 93 to Dec. 2000, 22.8 million
Bush 43: Jan 2000 to Oct. 2008, 4.4 million

Inflation averaged 4.0% per annum in the years Democrats occupied the White House and 5.1% when a Republican occupied the White House.

Of the eight presidencies during 1961-2000, the three with the lowest per annum rate of inflation belonged to three Democrats: Kennedy (1.1%), Clinton (2.6%) and Johnson (2.9%).

Two of the Republicans, Ford (7.0% per annum) and Nixon (6.2%), had pretty dreadful inflation records. Prices were not stable by the standards of the last 15 years under Reagan (4.2% per annum) or Bush41 (also 4.2%), either. The Bush43 years (2.9% per annum)

Real weekly wages for nonsupervisory workers, under Reagan, took a beating, declining even more quickly than they had during the 1970s. Today, the average real earnings of nonsupervisory workers remain far below those of 30 years ago, despite healthy wage gains in the second half of the 1990s expansion, when unemployment rates dropped to 4%.

President Reagan had earned a degree in Economics at Eureka college, and even though he would sometimes joke about “two economists having three opinions”.
Over the eight years of the Reagan Administration:
20 million new jobs were created
Inflation dropped from 13.5% in 1980 to 4.1% by 1988
Unemployment fell from 7.6% to 5.5%
Net worth of families earning between $20,000 and $50,000 annually grew by 27%
Real gross national product rose 26%
The prime interest rate was slashed by more than half, from an unprecedented 21.5% in January 1981 to 10% in August 1988
Nobama is a failed lawyer like clinton so he went in to politics with the same bullshit mantra "I feel your pain!"
Clinton rode Reaganomics until he singend the trade deal with China and pushed for china's adminittance to WTO..brilliant.

We are lucky that the Obama Administration understands that we can cut thousands of govt jobs without even feeling it. The Sloth, poor work ethic, lax supervision and outrageous unfunded Pensions have made Govt Workers a deadly drag on socieity.

Trust the President. He will fix it.
