phony headline by a phony news source.

which of course was that there was a mass shooting, with a military-style weapon and these happen too often.

We will continue to have lockdowns in our neighborhoods and streets and - sadly our children will be subjected to continued lock downs in our schools (as in Washington yesterday) as these students try and get an education around and above the life lesson of our gun violence in our country.

That's one of the reasons the cops lock them down, to dramatize the negative effects of public gun possession, and to punish the public for it.

You're in enemy territory, but I got your back. The sleazeball who "reported" this stuff should have to turn in his or her keyboard.

One thing I don't get. Why do the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" crowd oppose background checks? Given their reasoning, one would think they'd be the strongest supporters of ways to screen out the social misfits and the psychotics, the PEOPLE who kill people.

reasonable support background checks. The extremists we encounter here and who spout off wild conspiracy theory don't represent reasonable people.

The Topix right wing extremists also don't reflect the views of the American people at large - thank the Dybbuk.

The Navy Yard shooter used a shotgun which ... unless Elmer Fudd becomes Secretary of Defence ... isn't a military-style weapon.

As we all know, a shotgun in the hands of a lunatic is perfectly safe.

A long piece of lumber isn't safe in the hands of a lunatic ... but I wouldn't classify a two-by-four as a "military-style weapon".

I wouldn't either, because it doesn't have a high capacity magazine, which most modern lunatics prefer.

High capacity magazines are inherently more efficient. Magazines like Vogue and Elle have so many more pages compared to Glamour or Flaunt and you can spend much more time reading them.

More pages means you don't have to carry so many copies.

reports said otherwise. It is an old post.

Lucky he didn't. Probably would have killed more just like the kid in the school and the one in the theater. A nut with a gun is still a nut with a gun.
