Barnabas wrote: Regarding the marriage of Jesus, we can read Prof Barbara Thierings website. He got married twice, first with Mary Magdalene and second with Lidya. With Mary Magdalene they have three children, Tamar, Jesus Justus and the second child is not stated. Also with Lidya, Jesus had one child. Give up the proof if all of this is true. One may say that when Jesus ascended he got into a fling saucer. There are all kinds of ideas about the life of Jesus yet very little proof.

Rabbi in Hebrew means married how do you know it means the same to greeks. They seemed to have more then one weak translation of words in the Septuagint. To build such a large argument on one word seems like a very weak argument Rabbi has Levitical ramifications. Would anyone say a Rabbi was not circumcized? Same with marriage. Also, Mary prepared his body for internment. Only a member of immediate family could do that.

The prerequisite for being Essene scribes or rabbis was that they were born in Israeli ,25 years old, and unmarried. All of the rules that you are talking about did not apply 100 % to all groups.

There is NO evidence that there were Essene Rabbis. Also, Jesus was not Essene. To be Essene, the lame, sick and malformed were abominations to God. But Jesus welcomed the infirmed. John the Baptist might have been Essene.

I do know that Essenes call there tachers Rabbis. The Essenes did not get married for most of their History. That means some Rabbis were not married in the time of Christ.

Please provide a link or some evidence that Essenes had a Rabinical tradition. The Zadok or Tsadik is something entirely different.
