Last call for Novato landfill foes

What about the climate change aspects? as sea level rises, this facility gets more and more expensive to separate from the waters of SF Bay. It's a bad location for a dump. Any cost/benefit studies used to justify its continued use needs to include the sea level rise element.

Five feet away from tidal waters, toxic chemical sludge, global warming, rising sea levels, sensitive wildlife, recreational waters...ahhhh, maybe we should close it an start the clean up now. This threat is more real than a terrorist threat.

Why has this debate been allowed to go on for so long.
This isn't rocket science, a kid with a chemistry set could take some samples and figure out the answer to the environmental impact question.

there is a landfill currently being purposed (final EIS approved by BIA).Farm and water organizations and Sierra Club, County supervisors, state and federal legislators oppose it, but the developers are agressively pushing it. To be located in steep foothills over a watershed that feeds surface water and ground water, has 2 seismic faults and unstable soil. Developers are Cortina Integrated Waste Management, Inc,(subsidiary of Earthworks Industries of Canada) and Cortina Landfill Co.(subsidiary of North
Bay Corp of Sonoma County which is one of the Ratto Group of Companies. It is an environmental problematic project in a pristine foothill area.
