Let's review...

Why is there always a fuss about these things?

Do IQ scores drop suddenly when telecom companies show up?

See, the "antennas" or whatever these companies call them can't, can't, can't be any more dangerous out in the streets THAN THE CELLPHONE ANTENNA IN YOUR POCKET, PURSE, WHEREVER, because they communicate with each other.

So if you're not a'scared of the electro-mag waves right near you then stop your whining about towers or boxes or poles, etc.

The North and South Merrick Civic Associations will be holding a rally at 9:30 tomorrow in front of Town Hempstead Town Hall (1 Washington Ave Hempstead). We hope you can come down(ask your neighbors) and support the removal and/or relocation of these antenna's from in front of peoples homes and our children's schools. How many more Celluar Companies will put more antenna's on residential streets? When will it end?

Good lord, people. There is nothing wrong with these antennas. Your microwave puts out much more radiation than these little sites ever will. They are hardly noticeable unless a new pole goes up. You either put these little things up, or they can put up 100 foot monopoles, your choice. Linked is a picture that I took of one of these installs. There is nothing to them. 99.9% of the population wont ever notice them. I would happily have one installed on my house if it meant better reception for me.

Sounds to me that the fix is in. They already installed these boxes in my small town of Malverne. No permission or permit necessary. What are they doing about that? We cannot cut down a tree in Malverne without permission. But they town allowed these ugly looking boxes on telephone poles without permission, not the knowing the consequences of the health risks. Where was the town inspector? Was he riding around looking in peoples back yards.

David Dennenberg and his Merrick J e w s need something to complain about.

David also needs a campaign issue as he voted for a lot of tax increases for his friend Suozzi.

Nothing like scaring people to distract them and get their votes!

"Town officials estimate that payments will reach about $75,000 a year."

SO IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR...
Just like our elected Politicians selling our health.
WILL TOM SUOZZI GET ONE IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE TO PROVE THAT THERE IS NO HEALTH RISK? I doubt it.

That was such a simple fix. They should've used the existing poles from the start and avoided all the trouble.

Is Verizon the company with a different name or can anyone use their poles for anything they want?

You missed the point. This company is dropping NEW poles in front of peoples homes and on Lawns. It's not like they are adding a box on an existing pole.
" you need to move your car buddy, we need to put a pole in the middle of your driveway" that's the attitude
