The executor was on the Chronicle video today very upset at the loss of his friend of over 40 years for God's sake. Give it a rest and give people some time to catch their breath. Who was in a rush to smear John O'Quinn and his death before ANY of the facts were in? Like I posted, I HOPE they go after the Enquirer for these outrageous false smears, that I believe were deliberately planted. YOU are the one who prob brought the article over for your bashing session to begin with. Why bring it here? You know opinions will flare. That was your goal. Just as sick.

If anyone has the hard copy of that Enquirer article, please write who the authors are of the O'Quinn hit piece. Lin Wood's GOOD BUDDIES at the Enquirer were Don Gentile and John South in the Ramsey case. They wrote the pro-Ramsey puff piece articles. It might have been tossed to the reporter who was the main guy on the Edwards story however.

David Wright is another Enquirer author used by Lin Wood in the Ramsey case.

They photographed him at the hotel with the baby and broke the story of his mistress and baby. They have reported about his problems and the investigation into his campaign a lot. It's not "odd" that they are following the investigation and Grand Jury and have inside sources. Them adding a few sensational untruths about O'Quinn is what they do to sell a story. I don't think it has anything to do with Wood IMO. They are VERY involved in the Edward case and just trying to sell some copies.

John O'Quinn has ZERO to do with John Edwards, and his tragic death has even LESS to do with him. It's a PLANTED story by someone with an axe to grind against O'Quinn, and someone who will run with stories that person plants.

Why was it okay for VA to trash Anna after her death but nobody should say a bad word about O'Quinn? Glaringly obvious double standard going on.

It's a PLANTED story by someone with an axe to grind against O'Quinn, and someone who will run with stories that person plants. -------- It's a piece by the Enquirer who has an axe to grind with Edwards. They are aware of what's going on with his troubles and obviously read that O'Quinn died and used his name to promote a story in a tabloid.

Video: HOUSTON - Friends of attorney John O'Quinn said a final goodbye Wednesday. Funeral services for the prominent attorney took place at Second Baptist Church. O'Quinn was remembered for his contributions to Houston and to the legal profession. "Mr. O'Quinn was an incredible human being. He is one of the giants on whose shoulders the lawyers of the plaintiffs in Houston stand. He set the high mark for us," said Jim Pearson. The 68-year-old died last week after his SUV slammed into a tree along Allen Parkway. A colleague of his was also killed in the crash. O'Quinn will be buried in a private service at the O'Quinn River Ranch in Wimberley, Texas. http://www.39online.com/news/local/kiah-oquin...

John O'Quinn, R.I.P. John O'Quinn The Houston legal community remains in shock over the death yesterday in a car accident of famed trial lawyer, John O'Quinn. He was 68 years old at the time of his death. O'Quinn was a remarkably talented plaintiff's lawyer and became one of the wealthiest attorneys in the country as a result. And a controversial one at times, too (also see here). But those who only knew John through news reports never knew the man. John had a heart as big as Texas, as reflected by his generous donations over the years to the University of Houston, Texas Medical Center institutions and numerous other charitable organizations. Moreover, John's big heart extended into legal cases, too. Most recently, John took on the case of former mid-level Dynegy executive Jamie Olis, whose criminal case epitomizes the brutal nature of the government's criminalization of business in the aftermath of Enron's demise. After taking on the case, John told me that his review of many of my blog posts on the Olis case was one of the reasons that he decided to take on the case. He never received a dime for the work he did on the case, but he didn't care a lick. He simply was appalled by what the government had done to a decent young man and his family, and he was intent on doing something about it. My most recent contact with John was at University of Houston Law Foundation board meetings, which he attended faithfully for many years (he was the law school's largest benefactor). John was a delight to work with at such meetings, intensely interested in what was going on at the law school, but always wonderfully good-natured about the inherent limitations of such boards to do much more than raise money and encourage the Dean to hire good people. My lasting memory of John will be leaving our last such meeting together, talking about the Olis case as we walked to our cars. We observed to each other on just how difficult it had become to be a wealthy businessperson in America. He cracked that it was almost enough to turn him into a criminal defense attorney. Make no doubt about it, John O'Quinn was one of the most talented trial lawyers of his time. His preparation regimen for trial was legendary, and his ability to connect with jurors was the best that I have ever seen in the courtroom. I will miss John very much. http://blog.kir.com/archives/2009/10/john_oqu...

November 02, 2009 What an awesome man! I'll never forget hearing "Hukuna Matata" blaring from his office in the workday afternoons. So brilliant and focused, yet still so filled with the little boy spirit. You have touched so many, John. Your family and loved ones are on my heart and in my prayers. Lori --- That's such a nice story. Picture that while you watch one of these.... http://www.youtube.com/watch... http://www.youtube.com/watch... I love that song and movie too!

Here it is wrote: MYSTERY DEATH OF JOHN EDWARDS KEY MONEY MAN A top contributor to John Edwards' failed presidential bid was killed just as it appeared he might be called to testify before a federal grand jury probing Edwards' campaign finances. Wealthy Texas attorney John O'Quinn died in a one-car accident on Oct. 29 in Houston. The grand jury in Raleigh, N.C., was considering calling O'Quinn and other major Edwards' contributors in order to complete its investigation, a top government source in Washington, D.C., told The ENQUIRER. John O'Quinn was one of Edwards' biggest contributors and also a close friend of Fred Baron, who was Edwards' national finance chairman. Baron allegedly paid hush money to Edwards' mistress Rielle Hunter and to Andrew Young, Edwards' former loyalist who took part in the cover-up surrounding the ex-senator's out-of-wedlock baby with Rielle. Said the government source: "While there's no indication of wrongdoing in O'Quinn's death, it's weird timing that he was suddenly killed with the grand jury still investigating whether Edwards had broken any campaign finance laws when paying Rielle." Edwards has denied paying hush money, but O'Quinn's violent death adds yet another strange twist to the incredible saga of the slick politician's rapid fall. "There's absolutely no indication that Mr. O'Quinn did anything wrong - or knew about hush money or even knew John Edwards was having an affair," the DC insider said. "But as a top contributor - AND a close friend of Baron - he was among several individuals that the grand jury was considering calling to testify." For all the details pick up the new ENQUIRER on sale NOW. http://www.nationalenquirer.com/john_edwards_... Conspiracy theories run amok. Where else would you find something like this printed but the rag mags? Why didn't the author say the conspiracy to kill O'Quinn was related to Overstock.com ? Is it because the author just so happened to be following the Edward's story and had some info at his or her fingertips? Or was the author just too lazy to research the controversial aspects of the Overstock.com case? I admit, I, too, thought at first someone arranged for the "accident." But the idea quickly left me when I considered the accident occurred on Allen Parkway. Too many variables, such as witnesses, as well as the layout of the road, to speculate that someone forced him off the road. The National Enquirer and its cousins publish stupid, sensationalistic garbage based on rumor and speculation that appeals to the lowest-common denominator in the reading public. My guess is that 1% of the buyers of the magazine believe what they're reading. The rest buy it purely to be amused by its absurdity. Plus, the cost of potential litigation is built in to the cost per issue.

I bought the Enquirer issue with the O'Quinn hit piece. WHAT DO YOU KNOW? It's written by Barry Levine, and Lin Wood's friend DAVID WRIGHT, author of COUNTLESS pro Ramsey pieces for the Enquirer. I hope the O'Quinn family looks into this highly suspicious story, and how it ended up in the National Enquirer.

I also remember Barry Levine being involved in the pro-Ramsey Enquirer story, trying to smear a dead man, Michael Helgoth, for the crime.
