here's a review of "Check My Brain"

"Check My Brain" is a second gem from the highly-anticipated return of the kings of heavy-emotion-meets-heavy-rock . Not as complex (or long) as "A Looking In View," "Check" makes for a much more suitable radio single. Somber vocal harmonies and bending guitar notes warble over steady, pounding rock percussion, giving this song Alice In Chains' signature feel of being chased through a haunted, hard-rock funhouse.

i cant believe they replaced Staley with a sound alike! I know they aint the first band to do it, but everybody knows the story of AIC, Staley is irreplaceable! move on! Dont call yourselves Alice in Chains cause your not anymore! I guess whats pissing me off, is, i clicked on a video with Layne Staley's face on it and then this new "check my brain" song starts playing, WTF! I bet Staley is rolling over in his grave!

Not all metalfans fall deprave to styreotypical "psychopaths" most of the feeling of metal music comes from the core or"soul" of what makes you let loose. Inhibition is the glamour and root of what makes music and musicians.If you can feel it and it moves you than go for it.The new Alice in Chains is so provocative and extremely well put together, thatit shows, why Layne Staley's death was untimeley. The band's potential can only be imagined, yet,the talent is there with this new singer. In my opinion, Black Gives Way To Blue is one of the best albums I have heard in a decade in a half. Koodoos to AIC for not only the quality of music that I have come to enjoy and adore,yet, also finding the replacement worthy of sharing Cantrell's(and Staley's) outlook on absolute truth through song adeptation. This album is a must buy (no download)!!!SUPPORT METAL
