At least I saw a cop giving a ticket to one of these eyesores on DeSoto north of Devonshire two days ago.

I don't believe that senators and congressmen can relate to the average voter. Face it, if he or she had an average income, they wouldn't be in office. There are no poor senators.

Their main concern is to stay in office. That's where you an I have some power, some say. The voters hold one very important key. We can take away their jobs, vote them out.

The only thing I think we can do is to vote against all of the incumbents. If someone is running for re-election, I'm going to vote for the other person. I no longer think that one party is going to do any more than the other. You decide to go with one party or another and you're going to have the same exact people in office over and over doing nothing more than they always have. Democrats and republicans are two different sides of the same poop sandwich.

Vote the people who are in office out of office. Maybe when the next batch of reps arrive, they'll see that their jobs aren't guaranteed and realize that we are the ones who give them these jobs. They're working for us, not the corporations that sponsor them.

Without us voting them in, they aren't going to be in a position where they can get all of the perks that come with the job.

Just a thought. Then again, I'm not a billionaire, so what do I know?

The only signs that feuer and bluementhal really want to see out on the streets is; going out of business, short sale, close, foreclosure, we accept EBT's cards, food stamps, WIC, we have fake I.D.here.

I just tell people to boycott the businesses that use these signs. If people would stop buying from these businesses they would go out of business, and therefor no more signs. Problem solved. We don't need more laws, we just need people to wise up and get smart. We can control this issue with our dollars. I hate these signs, but also hate wasting the time of the police and creating more laws.

Oh thank goodness. I'm tired of seeing those eyesores. And they're in the way, impeding traffic. Ha ha "Road Spam". Totally.

I'm surprised more people don't push them out to the middle of the street at night, roll them over, or flatten their tires.

I don't go for the "violating their right to free speach" garbage either. There are regulations about billboards all over the country.

Their an eye sore and often a safety hazard. I hope they are outlawed.

I'd like to find out where the guy lives who owns them and park a dozen in front of his house. See how he likes that.

If they outlaw them I'd like to buy one at the "fire sale", and use it for a trailer.

"The Assembly wants to throw out our First Amendment rights to freedom of speech," Boyer said. "You can't pass a law saying certain vehicle owners have different rights than other vehicle owners."

First, freedom of speech is a joke. No one has freedom of speech if someone else can tell you what to say.

Second, certain vehicle owners will always have different rights. You ever notice city/state vehicles parking anywhere they want or speeding, or running red lights?

Open your eyes people.

These billboards are not only an eyesore; but are as bad as cargo vans when it comes to visilility - you can't see through them and it's difficult to see around them thus creating hazards while approaching one of them. And they tend to be wider than a normal vehicle, so they stick out into traffic.

And regarding eyesores - there are billboards being banned in many areas due to concerns over quality of life - why should these be an exception?

But let's not stop there. You want to improve quality of life? How about we start banning the taco trucks parked on the street in many of our neighborhoods. And the shopping carts selling God-Knows-What! in the same areas. Ice Cream vendors pushing carts and ringing their little bells.

And what about Ice Cream Trucks running the same route in half-hour rotation, playing those annoying nursery rhymes (or worse - Music Box Dancer)?

Ban the shopping carts. Ban the Taco Trucks emitting noxious fumes from ancient deep fry grease. Limit the rotation of the Ice Cream Trucks. And get rid of the mobile billboard trailers completely!

I could go on. But I'll let somebody else take it from here.

Lastoutlaw............why not limit when we can brush our teeth, or how much television we can watch, heck if we can force the children to stay indoors the Ice Cream Trucks will disappear. Will you people ever get fed up with the increased regulation of your lives. I know I am.

I am too - but we live in a society of extremism - best illustrated by the extreme right and the extreme left (our current political parties) both forgetting that the majority of us don't fit into the patterns that both of them lay out as our future.
Do I miss the Helms Man? You bet I do. I also miss the ice cream trucks coming by once every couple of hours. In my neighborhood, we have 3 trucks. THREE!!! And they are constantly hovering and cruising for business. One goes by every 20 minutes - one playing Music Box Dancer, one plays Yankee Doodle, the other plays Turkey In The Straw.

I think that's a bit much. An being as this is So Cal with it's temperate climate, we get this from late April thru November.

How to deal with them? We HAVE to go to the city government; they issued the Health Permits. They permit the routes.

FYI - have you ever seen a health permit on a shopping cart full of ingredients for tacos, burritos, boiled corn cob - all done right before you on a hot plate with a propane burner underneath? I haven't. But I've seen the carts.

I'm not for Nanny State. Never was. But I do want the government to do the job of regulation to some degree; 'cause right now there doesn't appear to be any at all; not in my neighborhood.

I'm fed up with a government that claims to do for the people but only does for itself. I want a government 'Of The People, By The People, and For The People'. One that says what it means, means what is says and DOES what it says.

Not very PC and not very 21st Century. CERTAINLY not very liberal of me.

But I've never claimed liberalism. I'm a moderate. I want done only what needs to be done using common sense, reason and intelligence.

Three things that are NOT qualifiers for Government Office.

Look at LA's Mayor and City Council for proof of that.

Bike Safety indeed! If the idiot would stop looking for Chicas or Cameras he would be able to see where he was going and not hit that parked taxi.

Perhaps the legislature should spend more time REPEALING laws than coming up with new ones like these...

At long last we will get rid of this horrible movable griffiti.
Our neighborhoods look like hell because of Mr. Boyer and his ilk.
Absolutely, we should boycott any business that advertises on these trailors. Phone them and let them know why.
And, to you Mr.( short) Boyer...why don't you go and crawl back under that rock from which you came
