Very nice review, as I will be buying this immediately!!!!
This despite the moronic hypocritical review by a politically corrrect idiot who neither understood the times, or conventional make up of many performers of that period, Jolson just being the BEST at it!
Yes, watch him, sing live,, to a theater with no microphone, and move and become electric!! Thats why many still consider him to be the Worlds Greatest live entertainer

Well, here's the proof that Al Jolson wiggled those hips even before the King!
I hope that they bring out "The Singing Fool" - my late mother told me that she saw it with her Mum in the cinema at the time.
My Mum said that they left the cinema so depressed because of the tragic death of the little boy whose face came up huge on the screen at the end of the movie. I can imagine it is a scene that gets you every time!
It's a shame that Larry Parks confined his movements to "from the waist up"!
